Meems is Back!
We were venturing towards Dino-Land, and we were super happy that Meema was walking towards us! WOOT WOOT! We were ready to eat, and Elsa and Peepa had their hearts set on Turkey Legs! They ventured off to find them and Michael and I ordered our burgers:
...Meema's lunch water. She was still feeling a bit poorly...
We ate our fill and decided to ride some rides! The kids really wanted to ride Dinosaur, but that one is on my no-ride list, so Meema bit the bullet and rode with them. Peepa opted out. He was starting to feel sick. What?!!! How is it that we are getting so sick at Disney? He was starting to feel a bit feverish, scratchy throat, snarfles etc... Peepa isn't one to bow out of rides, so this was very surprising. We told the others we would wait for them in the gift shop, but who says you can't have fun while you're waiting?
...another one of my favorites from this trip...

I think they had fun on the ride. I know we had fun with the hats!

Since we were already in the area Meema and Elsa somehow talked Michael into riding the Primeval Whirl. Last time they rode this ride it broke down and they had to wait for a while, and then they were escorted down the rickety stairs. Very nerve wracking. So it was a surprise they were able to talk him into it! Peepa and I decided to wait in the gift shop again, but we had already tried on all the hats. It was decidedly less fun during our second round of waiting. It wasn't too long and we got a text. They were stuck on the ride AGAIN! Hahahahahaha!
They told us to go ahead and try to make it to the Flights of Wonder, and they would meet up with us when they could. I snapped this shot on our way by. Michael was less than pleased.
Peepa and I made it just in time and we thoroughly enjoyed the show. One of my all time favorites, and this was Peepa's first time seeing it. He really enjoyed it too! Thankfully the other three made it down safely and saw a good portion of the show. They were given fast passes for the Whirl, so Peepa and I knew we would have to wait in the gift shop again.
I had braced myself for this very moment since we entered AK. We were on our way to Kali River Rapids. Let me make something clear. I am not opposed to getting wet, it's just that I hate that uncertainty of how wet am I going to get? Is it going to be soaked to your undies wet? Boy I hope not. And I have that thing about my head getting wet, but I knew how much Elsa wanted to ride this...so we headed on over, and I had a really good attitude about it! This was a first for Michael, Elsa and I and we really didn't know what to expect. I decided to take a before picture:
The closer we got to our raft the more excited I got! I guess once I determine to tackle things, it's easier to face. So we all strapped in and nervously sat, waiting to see what would happen. We all screamed and hollered as we floated along. The "oh-no's" and "ahhhh's" increased as we rode up the first hill, ready for the fast slide down. I was sitting next to Michael and we were facing backwards as we zoomed down. When we hit the bottom a huge splash jumped up and clobbered me on the head. Just me.
Only me. Hahahahahaha. It was like a 20 gallon bucket was dumped right on top of me. Michael was splashed a bit and others got slightly wet, but I was dripping, soaked to my undies, wet, wet, wet! What can you do, right?!!!

We really enjoyed it, but Elsa was thoroughly disappointed with her lack of water so we got right back in line, but not before we took another "before" picture:
Second time through we knew what to expect and wouldn't you know it? Elsa was the only one who didn't get wet. Life can be super funny sometimes.
We grabbed some snacks (love, love, love Free Dining) on our way to Expedition Everest:
Oh, how we love this ride! We usually ride this multiple times in a day. Not today. It jarred us all more than we remembered in the past. Either we are getting old, or this migraine/reflux/weird-sickness was taking it's toll. We did take this great picture, though:
...I love Michael in this one...
Still soaking wet, we returned to Dino Land so Elsa and Meema could ride the Primeval Whirl. This time they were unable to talk Michael into riding it. I would be surprised if he EVER rides it again.
...on our way out of Dino Land...
We returned to Kilimanjaro Safari so Meema could experience it too:
It always feels like our AK days just fly by. It must be the early closing time. We had been planning to try and end the day with NEMO, but time was running out. We hurried on over and were so happy to sink into our seats with only moments to spare. This is a great show and it was worth all the hustling over. Elsa is determined to be a part of this show at some point in her life. She has never shied away from the lofty goals.
The park was well past closed once the show let out, but that didn't stop us from taking one last picture:
