Castle?

i thought it was a prop room and a place for the CM to change into their characters before the show at the front of the castle

or maybe it's all 3 :)

That's probably true.A few years ago I saw Captain Hook coming out of the castle near the suite it seemed.

But I think the operator's tower was there in the past, but it was defintely there. So yea.Maybe they did.Never though of that :p:)

DYK that Neuschwanstein Castle was one the inspirations for most, if not all, of the castles in the disney parks? (only stands out to me because i done it for german)

If for some unknown bizarre reason my social worker career doesn't work out, I'm going to be a CM.

I don't care if they don't get paid much, it's happiness that counts.

you should consider the college program.

The room in the castle was always there, but not always finished. I would love to stay there though, and it's kind of cool how they choose who gets to stay there, and that it is entirely free.

I have considered it. But my passion is somewhere else.

Although I could do the college program, then start my social worker job!

I don't know.
the college program lasts for a semester. you do it WHILE you're going to college. It gives you a few months of work experience to put on a resume.

Yea.so maybe that's what everybody's thinking? There was a room in the castle before the suite. It was for walt and his family but when he died they changed it into an operator's headquarters.
Nope over the Fire Dept. was for the Disney family, not the castle.

Oh Okay.Well I'm just saying what I heard from a travel channel show on the Magic Kingdom....Maybe that was being built for when Walt visited WDW but he died before it was ever built,so maybe that's why?

The castle was never intended for the Disney family. The rooms in the castle have been used for storage over the years.
The apartment over the fire company was where Walt & family would be staying but he passed before the completion.

I thought that was the Alcazar in Segovia... (My Spanish book said so!)

Oh Okay..But it was used for an operator's Headquarters for quite some time.:)

I thought there was only an appartment there(for walts family), but it wasn't exactly open to the public.

According to wikipedia:

Inside the upper levels of Cinderella Castle, there is a penthouse that was intended to be an apartment for Walt Disney and his family when they were in Florida. After Walt Disney died in 1966, the apartment was left unfinished - for a period, Roy O. Disney was due to take up residence there but decided against it, in respect for his brother.

On June 7, 2006, it was announced by Disney that the apartment would be completely decorated and upholstered as a 'royal bedchamber', which can sleep up to six people. It will become available as a once-in-a-lifetime experience during the Year of a Million Dreams celebration taking place at all eleven Disney theme parks, and an overnight stay in the apartment will be a prize randomly awarded to a guest at the four Walt Disney World theme parks and Downtown Disney.

I'm not talking about the fire station in DisneyLand I am talking about the Magic Kingdom Castle in DW.

Well someone was saying something about the fire station. I didn't completely read through all the posts. Oops.

Yea,someone was saying how Walt has an apartment over the firestation in DL which has a burning light to represent Walt always being there in spirit:)

lol...This thread seems quite confusing a bit:upsidedow
