Hi All!
I am having an Escape Wedding at SBP next week & want to try to get some pics in my dress w/ the castle in the background. We are going to the the Polynesian for dinner, so I'll try from the beach. Any other suggestions? Thanks!!!!

If you have a professional photographer from the area, they will know all the spots! The beach at the poly was a main spot but that is now a construction zone. There is a vantage point from the wedding pavilion, but that will take finesse to be there due to the possibility of other events going on. Who is doing your photography? Just letting them know should be more than half the battle! :thumbsup2

Thanks. We are using Disney photography but were thinking of trying to get some on our own too before dinner. Oh well, looks like rain anyway:(

How well do you expect to see the castle? The best shots we got with the castle in the background (outside of the MKPS) were on the ferry.

Here's one:

Also, we didn't tell our photographer to specifically try to get the castle, so if the photographer knows that's what you are looking for s/he may be able to make it a little clearer.

We also did some great shots with Spaceship Earth in the background. We had the limo drop us there, and took the monorail from there. This was in front of ticketing, fairly close to the monorail station:

(Note: we may have some that are even better with the castle - I'm not sure. These were in the handful I actually uploaded on-line.)

My opinion isn't going to matter much since I haven't had my wedding yet...but my fiance and I fully intend to fork over the money to get pictures in MK and Epcot in front of the castle. Our opinion is...if you're going to spend the money to get married in Disney World--there are just elements that HAVE to be there, otherwise, there's no reason to spend the money to go to DW when you can do a wedding for MORE people and more stuff.

We need:

1. Castle pictures
2. Spaceship Earth/other Epcot pictures
3. Mickey & Minnie show up at the reception.

So...those being our priorities--we are essentially not having any floral at the wedding besides my bouquet and my DF's boutonniere. Our money is going to the location and pictures.

Discuss your priorities...and spend your money there. :wizard:

You can maybe look into the Contemporary California Grill. I have no idea if they'll allow it, but perhaps you would be able to go onto the viewing platform.

Or maybe one of the smaller boats that goes from one of the resorts to the Magic Kingdom would work? Maybe you can "make nice" with the captain, and he or she will go a little slower to take the pictures (if they get a view of the castle) and perhaps there will be less people on the boat than the ferry? Although the ferry can be pretty empty depending on the time of day too.

You actually may not even have to get on the ferry because I think you can see the castle from the loading area at the Transportation and Ticket Center. Though you might be getting the same type of view as you would if you went to Sunset Point at the Polynesian.

You might be able to see it from the boat dock at the Grand Floridian. (not where you rent the boats but where you catch the boat to MK - I think it's by Narcoosee's)

Happy hunting :)

Sunset Pointe no longer exists at the Poly... The TTC and the Poly beach have the best castle views from the ground.

Thanks for the suggestions. The castle pics never happened. It was chilly and we decided to go back & change instead. No regrets, was worth it to keep my family happy & comfy:)
