I'm looking at a solo weekend trip this spring. Really just need a place to sleep that is clean, close, and budget friendly. I want to spend my $$ in the parks. Thoughts on this hotel? Any other recommendations?

Some of my go-to have really increased in price.

I’ve stayed there with my family of 5 a couple times over the years. My daughter stayed there with 2 friends when they went for their senior Highschool spring trip this last March. It’s a great option! Basic but clean and safe. Our first choice was always Candy Cane Inn but when not an option or if Castle Inn is cheaper we stay there.

We stayed there and were very pleasantly surprised at how good the service was, although for a motel, there weren't really many "services" on offer. But the desk staff was extremely efficient and friendly/courteous. Now this was 8 years ago and right after a big renovation, but at the time the rooms and all the furnishings and fittings were new and very clean, and everything worked perfectly. The walk to the maingate was a bit longer than optimum (compared to, say, the Camelot which is right across the street) but OTHO, it's that much closer to Garden Walk and all the shops and restaurants down that way. We would definitely book it again and as an added bonus, the castle-theme exterior is a bit of a nice, magical touch!

I stayed there 1 night, a few months ago. It was OK. Pros: price, free parking, decent location. Cons: pretty bare-bones, meager toiletries (something was missing, can't remember offhand but I didn't bring all the basics 'cause I assumed they'd be provided) and no security latch on the door. I knew that ahead of time, from watching a YouTube video, so I purchased a door lock gadget from Amazon. I was there for an after-hours event and didn't feel safe walking back alone; fortunately friends who weren't spending the night drove me back, otherwise I would have Ubered. The walk is fine during normal hours when lots of other park-goers are out.

I can't figure out why people say Castle Inn And Suites is a top motel in Anaheim and how it makes money and survives. I once tried out Castle Inn And Suites when my family went for a short Disneyland trip and my mom always kept reading about Castle Inn And Suites when we would plan our Disneyland trips but we had never stayed there before then. Anyway when my family stayed at Castle Inn And Suites it turned out to be very disappointing. For one thing it looked like a Super 8 Motel with a Castle theme and from all we read about it we expected it to be a nice place but it wasn't what we had read about at all. On the room we had it was a small room and it had a refrigerator in it and was okay and the bed itself was comfortable and soft and the only things castle related in the room were the pictures of different castles hanging above each bed. And I think if you were just planning a one day trip to Disneyland like I did if you have a small family Castle Inn And Suites would work as a budget motel. But forget about requesting wake-up calls in the motel because when my family stayed at Castle Inn And Suites that time we requested an early wake-up call for the day we were driving home and we slept and slept and we never got our wake-up call and we just got up loaded our family van and checked out and they never apologized for not giving us our wake-up call that we requested. But we never stayed there again

We were in the same boat as you, just looking for a place to sleep & within walking distance to the parks. We found it basic, clean, close to the entrance and priced accordingly.

Have you checked out Desert Inn and Suites? That is usually our go to when not on-site and is very clean, safe, and affordable.

We stayed at the Castle Inn on one of our trips. It was fine but compared to Desert Inn or Park Vue, the walk felt long. It didn't help that it was September and the hottest trip we have taken and DS was still at an age where he wanted to take a break midday to rest back at the hotel so we did the walk to the parks and back twice each day.

Thanks everyone. I went ahead and booked it! It was the cheapest I could find and was cheapest by booking a package with disney directly. For 3 night- 4 day tickets with hoppers and genie it was *only $1042. Considering tickets is $555 of that, it means I got the room for about $160 a night.

I looked at dessert inn and suites and the nightly rate was $160 but they added a bunch of fees! I won't need parking.

If you let the front desk know you don’t need parking, they will remove that charge!

Castle Inn & Suites has been our go to choice for several years. It's not fancy, but the people are friendly and helpful and the parking is free. My husband uses a scooter and we just leave it with them at the end of the day and they charge it up for us overnight.

You just said your last DLR trip was in 2004. I'm not sure this is the accurate and best information to be sharing.
