How does one m&g with Merida if her pathway is closed?

The entire pathway isn't closed, just the end where it meets with Fantasyland. There is a makeshift wall past the Cinderella wishing well

oh thank goodness its my first (hopefully not last) visit iv been waiting my whole life for this and as the date approaches I keep hearing of all these negative things impacting some of the stuff I was most excited for so im so nervous now

No worries! WE were there in AUgust and while it was clear there was work going on, it did not detract from the Castle Experience. In the event the ramps are still closed when you arrive, go to the back of the Castle and you can still see the lovely murals. I think some of the prettiest views are from the back.
