Just a quick question. If I remember correctly the Castle Dream lights are early in the evening. Usually around 6-6:15pm? Can anyone confirm? Thanks!!!

Yes, about that every night.

I think the time varies a bit as the season goes on, depending on when sunset is.

When we were there in early December last year it was at 6:15.

For the last 2 years Cinderalla's Holiday Wish has begun at 6:15 each evening for the full season meaning the Castle Dreamlights were lit at approximately 6:20(they are lit approximately 5 minutes into the approximately 7 minute show).:)

While Cinderella's Holiday Wish has been at 5:45 or 6:30 at times in past years,it "appears" Disney has settled on 6:15.:)

Only time will tell.:)

I'm sorry to hi-jack the thread - but what exactly are Castle Dream lights? I've never heard that phrase before? Is it where the castle changes to all the different colors?

Thanks!

During the holidays the castle lights up with icicles and there is a mini show nightly to light the castle

Their first night this year will be either Nov. 5 or 6.

The dates of the show for 2011 were 11/8/2011 - 1/3/2012 to you should see them during your trip. :thumbsup2

According to detailed info I've located, the Dream Lights began Nov. 4 in 2011.
That would mean that the D-Lights first two nights were actually during the last two dates of Daylight Saving Time, so the "Cinderella's Holiday Wish" lighting ceremony would have been performed at 7:15PM EDT on those first two nights. On the rest of the D-Lights evenings, that ceremony would have begun at 6:15PM Eastern Standard Time.

In July of this year, Disney posted on its website that the Dream Lights would begin on Nov. 2 of 2012. But, that date seems unlikely. (The Disney website is infamous for erroneous early postings.)
It wouldn't make sense that they would start the D-Lights on the last night of MNSSHP.
The castle has much "spookier" lighting during the Halloween Party, and the D-Lights
would be out-of-place for that.
That "Nov. 2" start date info has since been removed from the Disney site.

The most consistent info that I can find for 2012 looks like a Nov. 5 (Mon.) start-date, which also happens to be the first night of dropping back to "Standard Time" in 2012.

:confused3 my dates came from

http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/christmas_world.htm

I agree that it wouldn't make sense to have the Christmas lights at the Halloween party though!

So the lights start before the Christmas Parties do? :confused3

I found positive confirmation of 2011's start date of Nov. 4, just since I posted this morning.

HERE is an article with photos of the first night of Cinderella's Holiday Wish and Castle Dream Lights taken on Nov. 4, 2011.

The first MVMCP in 2011 was Nov. 8.
