Castle Ceremony

I am working with a Disney rep so I already have those details. Younare correct, it is at 8 am. In fact I have to be ready for pics at 4 am! You are about double over on the price. It's about 10,500 for the site including a string corttet, seating, and transportation for all guests to and from the main gate. And it's fine if you stalk me, that's what these boards are for, right?

well, don't i feel sheepish.
looking forward to keeping up with your plans!

Are you sure about that? I am looking at my Guildlines For Ceremonies and Special Venues that I just got from DFTW, and it says that a Magic Kingdom ceremony has a site fee of $28,000 exclusive of tax. How are you getting ALL of that for $10,500?

Very exciting! I will also be looking forward to a PJ, it is sure to be very popular! To answer your question about them, there aren't too many rules about making one and you can do it however you like, but if you check out a few you will get a general feel for what to include. Generally they start with an introduction, info on the engagement and how the couple met, and then basic info about wedding plans. From there it's basically update as you get things done or have ideas! Good luck! :goodvibes

That's what I thought too.... But I'll be interested to see :)

There is a stripped down package for the lower price. I got a document on the castle weddings from my consultant last year. You are also required to add a reception on.

I have to agree... Looking back at my BEO from 5 years ago the string quartette alone was $2,400 and transportation was around $500. When you consider the site fees for the wedding pavilion I just can't understand why we aren't seeing more brides having castle weddings if you can do it for $10,500!

OP, I can't wait to hear more, you may start a trend!

About 2 months before our wedding there was a "special" posted or emailed from somewhere that the castle wedding site could've had for~12G, so I guess that's still on.

Like donkey kong.

I'm not sure what you got but I have a document with that price and a confirmation email from my rep that restates the same. I did round, I think the exact was like 10,650 or something. Now, I do still have to add photography and the reception but that is the quote I received. I am having a pretty small wedding probably around 25 but definitely no more than 30. If you want to PM me we can talk more. Some of the documents can be confusing with all the rules they have so that's why I have asked some questions by email to make sure I understand.

I wasn't saying my whole wedding/budget was $10,500 :rotfl:. That is just the site fee with the other couple of little things I put down in that post. I will definitely be spending more. I will probably spend around 20-25K with Disney, plus my other stuff such as dress, plane tickets, ect. I won't have a lot of flowers as I have severe allergies and don't want to be sick the day of the wedding. You can't have Cindy's coach in the MK so that's out too. Since we are getting married so early in the morning, that means a breakfast reception, which is just by nature less expensive. We are looking at the Contemporary because it matches my style and there is a view of the castle. There is no site fee for it, just a food/beverage minimum.

Hope that clears things up!

And yes, you do still have to meet the 12,000 minimum for a morning/breakfast ceremony/reception. But since my site fee will almost cover that I have no worries about meeting the minimum. ;)

I am not really the shy type :lmao: I am a really strait forward person and I am not really sharing any information that not every Disney bride is able to get through their rep.

Opps! I thought you were saying I wasn't sheepish! lol! I guess I should read slower :) But don't feel bad, I had no idea the cost until I got the quote from the rep. In fact I felt pretty stupid because I thought it would be less! Now that I am seeing these blogs I get it. I only just got on this site withing the last 5 days or so, after I already had all the info. I can't believe all the rules and costs that accompany a DW!

Sounds like an amazing wedding! I can't wait to follow your PJ! :goodvibes

I think they made the change last year reducing the site fee to $10,500. I remember there was a bride on the boards considering changing hers to a Swan Boat Landing wedding since the site rental fee decreased significantly. However, I think a lot of brides that have a big budget wedding still choose not to do a castle wedding because of the super early time and restrictions on photography and decor.

Also, isn't it a 50 guest maximum?

I thought when it got posted on here a while ago it was $10K for the MK site fee and then you had to meet another $10K food and bev min? Or have they changed it now?

Did you mean minimum? I am having 25-30 guests. Yes, there is a minimum, you have to have a minimum of 25 guests.

I just looked and I think you are correct, you can only have up to 50 guests. I didn't pay much attention to this since I am not having a big wedding anyway.

It must have changed. if you have a morning reception you must meet the 12K minimum. I will end up spending more with photography, reception, ect.

Thanks for the info! Yeah, that's what I did, read some others and then started mine. Anxiously awaiting my date :woohoo:

Ah, see I didn't know there was a minimum! :rotfl:
