Hello Fellow Cruisers, We would like to know what your experience was on this excursion. Thank You for Your Time.

We did this last year-family of 4-kids 17/19 at the time. None of us had ever kayaked. We had a great time! The guide was very good and made the walk part interesting. Kayaking was fun, easy. We stopped on the way back and they brought up a huge starfish and conch shell they passed around. We had a great time!

I really enjoyed this adventure. The guide was very knowledgeable and the walk was very pleasant and casual. The kayaking was also fun and I enjoyed touring the mangroves and learning about the local wildlife. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Hubby & I did this a few years back. We really enjoyed it. The walk was interesting. The kayaking & relaxing swim time was great. The walk back felt long & hot but we made the bes5 of it chatting with others from the group. I’d recommend it. Overall it was a solid tour I’m glad we did.

Loved this excursion! Guides are great. I would recommend bringing extra water and sunscreen. There was one dad and son who brought seat cushions with backs for their kayak and I was kinda jealous of those.

I know you cruise solo. Were you able to get a solo kayak or did they make you share with someone?

They did not bring an extra solo kayak and I told the lead guide that I could manage the double kayak. However since there was no other solo person the lead guide had one of the other guides (we had three total) take the double kayak and give me the solo kayak.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info. Confirms that I won't do a kayak tour anywhere. I do not want my life in someone else's hands, and I don't want a hassle made about it. Easier to just not do it.

I understand what you are saying. On one of my Disney Cruises to the Mexican Rivera I once got paired up with an older lady who never kayaked before and she didn't want to put in the effort after about halfway crossing from Medano Beach to Lovers Beach in Cabo. Luckily we had a chaser boat and once it was time to get back on the kayaks to head back she decided to ride on the boat and I had the kayak to myself. On my most recent kayaking adventure in Puerto Rico I was paired up with a young kid who was very experienced and energetic that we did really well. Honestly I never felt my life was in someone else's hands it's just not fun pairing up with someone who doesn't know what they are doing. Also the kayaking tour at Castaway Cay was probably the easiest one I've ever done.

bumping this up 3 years later....

is this still available on DCL? I saw it was as a port adventure, but is this considered a group activity that they may cancel?

We did this excursion on our recent Sept 17th Dream cruise. There were no single kayaks that I saw, and the two guides each used a double on their own.

You walk north from Serenity Bay to the very end of the paved path. You are on the water for about 90 minutes spending about 30 minutes walking/floating around a shallow sand bar.

It was very enjoyable and would highly recommend this excursion.

We just got off the Sept 24th Dream sailing and did this excursion.

Photo from our rest break where they made a Konk salad from the Konk shell meat they found during our kayak.

We did this excursion a few years back. It was great! Our first time kayaking. We loved it so much we bought kayaks of our own. Not as much fun as the Caribbean, but we do alright! lolScreen Shot 2017-11-29 at 3.41.34 PM.jpeg
