Today in the mail I received "...a special Castaway Club collectible art piece...".

We're still Silver members (1 more to go to be Gold), and haven't cruise since 2012, until our most recent cruise from last month.

Anyway, I wasn't sure if this was something old that they've been doing a while, or something new, so I snapped a few pictures of everything that was in the envelope.

The print is an unusual size - 6" X 8.5". I plan on framing it and adding it to our collection of vacation pictures and other vacation souvenirs that we have on the shelf around our family room.

(Please ignore the pinkish hue on all of the pictures; the items were leaning against my tablet and the pink keyboard reflected a bit onto the pictures. lol)

They have been doing this for several years now. I'm not at home or I could find out when it started, but someone else may post with that information.

I believe there are 5 or 6 different ones.

I know of 4 others and there was also a Happy Holidays one that Ducky Williams did a few years back.

This is from when they started it:

A New Way to Show Our Thanks
We value our Castaway Club members. And beginning in February 2014—to show our thanks—you'll receive a small token* of our appreciation when you return home after each cruise.

We commissioned 5 artists to create a series of Castaway Club-exclusive art cards. Collect one after each cruise.* There are 5 cards that you can collect. Each card was designed by a different artist using our Disney ships as inspiration—and showcasing the artist's unique medium and creative vision.

And if you're celebrating a Disney Cruise Line milestone—like your first Disney cruise or your Castaway Club status turning to Gold or Platinum—you'll receive a special car magnet* (in lieu of the art card) to celebrate your milestone and show off your new Castaway Club status.

The designs are a secret for now, so you can look forward to a fun surprise in the mail after your cruise.

*Limited to one gift per stateroom.

I love these, we got the Margaret Berg watercolor print after our cruise in Oct. '17. Has anyone received one recently or know if this is still ongoing? Does anyone have a picture of all 5?

I had no idea these cards existed! We just got back from our second cruise, and we got a silver magnet with a letter thanking us for sailing for the FIRST time. We also got a magnet after actually sailing for the first time, but I like this new design much better—it’s in the shape of the DCL logo and is silver/black instead of black/white and oval. Disney definitely knew this wasn’t our first cruise since we got the silver gift in our stateroom and I was able to check in at 90 days out. They need to get it together with this stuff! I’ve read on these boards that many CC members have never received anything.

We have gotten a few over the years but I don't think all five yet. We have certainly gotten a duplicate or two which is kind of a bummer. We did not get one for our most recent cruise but other people on ours did. As with so many mailings they are inconsistent with these.

PrincessShmoo.... so much for the magnet. I made Platinum and got the postcard. :( I called and was told the magnets are now completely random.

The post cards are a cute idea but when you take multiple cruises in a year it's kind of a waste. I get them from staying at WDW as well - which I do numerous times a year (DVC member). I have a stack about 3 inches thick. I'd rather have the magnet, at least I can put that on my fridge

Agree!! We're gold and have received the card after all of our cruises so far. We also haven't received any magnets and would much rather have it than the cards.
Dh and I did our first DCL cruise in 2001 for our honeymoon. We got a couple of Mickey pins then. I don't remember if we got them on the ship or if they mailed them to us. I'm pretty sure I didn't buy them though. They are of Mickey at the ship's wheel. Anyone else get them back then?

I have that pin too! I also sailed in 2001. I have no idea where I got it but it's on my pin lanyard (that had probably been hanging in the same spot since that cruise in 2001 LOL)

I am glad someone asked about these. They come periodically. Actually, Dumbo is the one I like the most, not from CC.

I have lots of doubles...three other designs.
Yes the characters are by Ducky Williams.

Yes!! That's the same pin we got, we received two of them. I gave one to our dd to put on her lanyard. I always put those pin locks on her pins so she won't lose it. She doesn't like to trade pins either. I wonder if they gave out different pins when the cruiseline first started. We didn't cruise again for many years after our first in 2001.

We are platinum have gotten the characters but not the ships, when did they start the ships?
