Castaway Cay Question

I am in need of information about the sand wheelchairs that are available on Castaway Cay. How many are there? Do we need to rush to get one? How hard are they to push in the sand?

My son can walk short distances but hopes to be able to get to the ocean. Any information will be appreciated.
