When you look at a map of the Bahamas where is Castaway Cay relative to the Grand Bahamas, Abaco Islands, Nassau, etc.?

When monitoring the weather on the weather channel web site, what could you enter that would give you an idea of the weather in CC? Are there any other web sites that would give info re the weather in CC?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I believe that it is located in the northern abacos. It will be listed as Gorda Cay as that was it's name until Disney bought it.

It is east of Ft. Lauderdale.

Try looking at this map on the DCL web site. It will give you an idea where the island is relative to Nassau and the great island.

It is approximately 8-10 miles west of Great Abaco Island (per natives I spoke with the day of my visit) and indeed it was formerly known as Gorda Cay.

Google it and you will find many results.

Check out dave's site....Dcl tribute I think.

Under the weather, they get directly at the closest location to CC I think it's green turtle island.

You get all the weather from the different ports that DCL visits on the eastern, western and 4 day itinerary.

Hope this helps :earsboy:

If anyone is still following this thread, could you please tell me if Castaway Cay is considered part of the Bahamas, or does it have a different national affiliation?

THANKS!
