I request an opinion!!! I know there is no right or wrong answer.

My daughter and I will be going on the 3 day Wonder cruise with two other families. This will be our first cruise (together, I have cruised before - before her). Anyway, I know my daughter would love to do a banana boat ride but I am trying to figure out how/when to schedule it. I have no idea if she will like the kids clubs (since she has never cruised), and don't know if she would prefer to do their "arranged" activities. For those with kids around 8-9, did they do the club activities at Castaway Cay or do most kids remain with their families?

Also, I have seen photos of a "fort" in the water, is that on the family beach???

Thanks for all your help!!! I love these boards. I am definitely addicted!

I would wait and see about doing it when you get there. That way if she wants to do you go and do it and if she doesn't you aren't out any money. From what I read on the boards, it goes across the board from the kids wanting to be there are hating to be there. I think one of the keys is the first night having the kids being introduced to the club and the other kids. I am going in a couple of weeks with my dd3 and I have no idea how she's going to react to the club. My game plan is to be flexible. If she wants to go to the club, she can go and I can do the adult things. And if she hates it, we'll do the family things. Sorry about being so long, but I hope that helps some.

Hi,

I went on the Wonder in Feb. My daughter was 10 and my son was 8. I did not think that my daughter would go to the lab at all but they both loved it. However on Castaway Cay my son went to Scuttles for an hour and my daughter wanted nothing to do with it. She wanted to spend the time on the beach. The kids can't go near the water if they are in Scuttle's Cove.

My son was very hot and this was the only time we got paged to get him. They do have water games and things like that to keep the kids cool and most kids were having a ball....He just doesn't like getting squirted so he paged us....

We got chairs towards the restrooms on the family beach which was right in front on the play structure in the water and we spent most of the day in the water....

Check out the www.castawayclub.com web site. It has a map of Castaway Cay so you can get an idea of where everything is....

The fact that the kids are not allowed in the water answers my question. My DD LOVES the water and wouldn't stay on beach and not be allowed in the water, even with water activities.

I didn't necessarily want her to be in the club, in fact, I really would rather her spend the day with me on Castaway Cay, BUT, if she wants to go to their activities, that is okay also.

I am a single mom, and to be hones, am hoping my daughter will go to the clubs for a little while during the evenings so I can see some of the clubs. She is already excited about them, but the Castaway Cay day is another story. We have fun in the water together and there are two other families we are traveling with.

I am sure all the kids will want to stay with us on the beach......really had no plans to go to the adult beach, would rather have fun with the kids!!!:p :p :p :p

my ds-8 wanted to do the Monstro dig with the lab, but we were snorkeling at the time and lost track of time. He decided that he would rather go to the family dig instead of the Island Scavenger Hunt since they were at the same time. We wanted to check out the adult beach, but I guess now we just have to go back to see it. LOL
