Castaway Cay: Can I bring a pop up beach cabana?

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to...We took some water noodles with us....and I've seen others with blow up floats and/or balls...so a pop up hut why not. They do have quite a few umbrellas and lounge chairs and palm trees for shade...but you should have plenty of room for a pop up.

I think it also depends on when you are going. We have been to CC 6 times, all in August, and I don't think at that time it would be a good idea to put kids in a shelter where any of the air would be restricted with the sun bearing down. Also on the main part of the beach you would have to probably rearrange some of the chairs since everything is pretty tight. Last year when my sone when with he got chairs/umbrella at the far back right in front of the food area. There seems to be a little bit of a bank there and with the umbrella it was really shady. And not to get bashed her, probablly 1 tent wouldn't bother me, but if more picked up on this idea I would feel like I was at a campground rather then a beautiful carribean beach.

I have a red-headed DS so I can relate to needing to be out of the sun! I wouldn't think it would be a problem. I would recommend walking to the far end of the family beach (near the restrooms). There is more extra room between chairs in that area.

If you have room to pack it, then bring it! We brought snorkeling gear, a beach ball, and two small boogie boards.

As mentioned earlier, though, I would take it to the family beaches further down. Everyone stops at the first one, so it is quite crowded. You'd have a hard time finding enough room for your family.

If it is difficult to pack, then don't worry about it. You will be able to find shade on CC.

I used one for my 2 year old back in May on the Repo cruise. Mine is about the size of the one you posted but it folds into itself (like some car sunshades) and fits in a beach bag. I didn't have any problems with CM's or fellow cruisers. Most people were impressed at how prepared for the sun I was! The only problem I had was trying to get all of the sand out of it!
