Castaway Cay buffet difference?

WE prefer the CC-SB buffet.
Love the ribeyes off the grill. Mine have always come directly off the grill not the ones waiting for people to choose from a pan/hot plate.
We have never encountered any long line, always less than 5 people in line anytime we have gone.

We love the SB buffet setup, the "upscale island" choices, the eating area, the cast there. We have eaten there many times, and funny I never remember a line. Maybe there has been one, but nothing like standing in a line in paradise, you tend to not care too much.

over50visits, I agree with you. Everyone is going on about the lines at the SB and I don't ever remember much of a line, if any, there. We have been there many times, have been platinum for some time. I like it a lot better than both Cookies. It's all about the difference in atmosphere for me, not the difference in food.

I'll have to agree with a few that say when they finally got to go to the serenity buffet, it was not all that. I too was determined that this last cruise (this past January - our 5th Disney cruise but only 4th stop at CC) I was putting my child in Scuttles Cove and high-tailing it to the adult only beach so I could say at least I've seen it and had that steak. My husband and I did just that. I expected it to be a smaller buffet (figured it would have the same food plus steak but a lot less area to cover) so that wasn't surprising. I just wasn't expecting it to be one big jam up of adults trying to get through the dang buffet line! We were about 15 folks back in the line from the time it opened and I was so confused because people and servers were darting back and forth in front of you and across from the line to the drink station then back to the line and servers were trying to ask you if you wanted this or that so they could put it on your plate as you passed by then you had other guests that would try to come in from the exit side of the line. Then once we finally got what we could on our plates, we made it to an empty table and sat down. We ate really fast and then before we finished up our last bite and drank the last of our drinks, we saw an older couple trying to find a spot to sit so we just grabbed up our stuff and said, "Please sit here, we are finished." Then with that experience under our belt we decided we rather enjoyed the ease of access and the two open buffet lines at each of the Cookies locations and we now feel we never need to discard our kid just for that scrawny piece of steak again. I'm so sorry Cookies for ever doubting that you were not enough!

On our past cruise we loved the ribs and spicy chicken sandwich!! This was on family side. Do they have these on SB?

We had the pineapple cake two weeks ago at the family beach side. Yummy!

And just as a counterpoint, I have been on 4 DCL cruises (July Dream, Presidents' Week Dream, Presidents' Week Fantasy, and Presidents' Week Magic - all busy times, all sold-out cruises) and never had or seen anything resembling that long of a line at Serenity Bay.

Biggest plus for me is no kids running around to make you fall because they are not in your line of vision - or they just decide to dart. :)

Same. Even on a sold out cruise we never waited for food at Serenity Bay, and we went during peak lunch hour.
