Correct! I finished around 45 minutes and we had family that was just over an hour and there were CMs waiting for them!

we are going in july in a double dip cruise. will they do the 5k on both days?

Off the double dip as well. Know for sure it was the first day. My kids said it was day 2 as well, but it was so darn hot. I saw one man running, not the course and one woman walking. No one else. That was around 9:15 to 9:30 am. Not sure it happened on day 2

How does the kid thing work? My husband and I were hoping to do it together but we have three little people. Do we have to take them off the ship first and to the kids club, or do the counselors take them off the ship to the club? Or do they stay in the club on the ship till we go get them?

Oceaneer's is not open on the ship. The kid's club moves to the island (Scuttle's Cove) for the day. You'd have to get them there before the run.

You take them off the ship to the club at Skuttles Cove. At the 5K check-in, the cast members managing the 5K will ask those participants with children to drop off to assemble at the front of the group poior to departing the ship. You walk by the kids club and drop off your kids on the way to the start line which is further down the walkway near the bike rentals area. There are usually a good number of youngsters being dropped off by 5K participants.

I was on both the 6/25 and 6/30 double dips on the Dream and have my Navigators. The 5K was listed only on the first CC day for both cruises. I did the 5K on the 6/30 cruise, and there were 300 people who had signed up for it.

I am in pretty good shape for a 50 year old (need to get rid of beer belly) because of the heat and humidity probably only ran 35-40% of 5k, wife ran whole way.

IMMEDIATLEY OFF ship drippy a sweat due to heat and humidity, run started at 9:15 92 degrees 84% humidity.

Was told they don't do the 2nd day 5k because of staffing issues. 2nd day would have been better, still hot but much less humidity

I have run the 5K three times-all in April. And it was pretty warm. July is a whole new level. Just be ready, well hydrated. We ran in WDW before the cruise and we were fine. Castaway was even more humid, if that is possible. LOL

Did the 5k last tuesday. It was hot and humid but fun. The 5k was done on the 1st stop at castaway cay. For those with young kids, you are let out ahead of the group so you can bring them to scuttles cove, the kids club on the island. Bring towels and before the race starts pick a spot because by the time the race is done you may not have the spot that you want, for me that would be an umbrella and a tree for shade.
