Cast member resort reservations

I’m a retiree and I called cast reservations yesterday to reserve some dates in July and September. I was told by the reservations rep that cast reservations can only be made 180 days in advance and to call back next month for the September dates. Has the 180 day rule always been the case?

I have also been told 60 days at times, unless that is just for Friends and Family rooms?

I have booked DL CM rooms the year much further out, I have a room at Pixar Pier in August (D23).

I was finally able to call for my December trip and there was nothing available at the BW, YC or Bc for my dates. I was looking at December 5-12. They had Animal Kingdom at 25% off for a deluxe resort. I am so very disappointed. First year in a very long time I won’t be going for my birthday. This 180 days out really sucks! Hoping a Disney+ discount becomes available for this time period.

I am looking on Cast Life right now and they have AK available for cast 50WDW rate. It is a water view rate. They also have a Savanna view available. They are both queen rooms. Sometimes you can request a king room if they have it available.
