If you work at dtd, do you still get the perks of going to the parks? And getting extra tickets for friends?

Also of you work at a store there, can you be transferred eventually to the parks instead?

I think if you're working for Disney at DTD, you're a CM with all the perks/benefits/low pay.;) If you work at DTD at a non-Disney location (like Rainforest Café, or the place that sells all the fancy soap) you probably don't have the same entitlements (except the pay will still be low).

* This is strictly a hunch on my part, but the easy way to get something right on the internet is to post something wrong. If I'm wrong, someone will be here to set me straight any minute now.:)

You are correct, hence it taking an hour not mere minutes ; )

I'm a cast member so I thought I can help. :-)

It depends on the store in DTD. If you work in a Disney store like the Christmas store, World of Disney Store, the candy shops, etc. than you are a regular Disney employee. The amount of tickets you get every year and the percentage discount on merchandise and food depends on how long you've been with the company and your status (full time, part time, or seasonal).

If you work for one of the other stores and hotels like Rainforest Cafe, Lego Store, Swan and Dolphin hotel, etc. than you are considered a "third party" employee. You are hired and paid through the other company. You may get tickets to Disney depending on the contract. I think most third party employees can get into the parks with their ID (it's green instead of blue for regular CM) and get a limited amount of tickets to let others in. I know someone at Swan and Dolphin who is employed by Starwood hotels. She can get herself into the parks (excluding certain blackout dates) and I think can get two people a year into the parks. She does get discounts for other Starwood Hotels.

On a related note I know someone who is also third party at Universal. He can get himself into Universal but doesn't get tickets to allow others in. It all depends on how the contract the other company has with Disney.

Hope that helps!

I want to add on to this, as my SIL works in DTD, at AMC, he can get himself into disney but no one else, but still can get discounts on the rooms.
