Sunday September 7th.
As MK & the Rope Drop is somewhat a family tradition on our first day at WDW. This year is not going to be anything different even though DS & DD won't be with us. So a early wake-up call at 7am, shower and off to catch the bus at 8am to MK.
A quick light Breakfast will be taken at main street bakery, using our snack option for the day. We will then head off to the entrance of Adventureland to wait for the rope drop. The first ride of the trip will be JC, this ride has never lived up to my expections, I believe Walt wanted to have real animals and I think that this would have been better, what do you all think?
POC will be our next stop, we love this ride, got to be one of our favourites. I think we could ride this over & over again. As JC is being refurbished in May & POC in June, we are pretty confident that they will be open when we are there.
We will then go on to Frontierland to ride Splash another favourite of ours, I can always remember being allowed to stay on this ride once by the CM, on one of our trips as there was no one waiting in line. Has this ever happened to any of you on any ride in WDW? BTMR will be our next stop.
Time for a rest now so we will hop onto the WDW railroad and do a circle of the park arriving back at Frontierland to walk into Liberty Square to go on a ride through the dark with 999 happy haunts. We rode this last year the first day after it reopened from the refurb, do you think the changes are for the better.
Now it will be time to go back to our childhood and go to Fantasyland, yes we will do Peter Pan's Flight, Snowhite's Scary Adventures & the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, not forgetting Its a Small World of course. Showtime now at Mickeys PhilharMagic, I have promised DW to try to not fall a sleep in here this year, as this tends to happned after a tiring couple of days travelling etc.
I think we will be ready to have lunch by this time & we are planning to eat at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe today. After lunch we will head for COP, believe or not this is one of DW favourite rides, so I hope Disney never ever take this one away, I know there has been a few rumours in the past. I used to love Alien Encounter. DW & DD went on it once but never agian. Such a shame they replaced it with Sitch, it is just not the same, what do you all think about this?
Suitably refreshed after getting my afternoon nap in COP (dont tell DW). Buzz will be our next ride with no DS to beat me I am confident of achiving the highest score this year, never live it down if DW beats me. SM will be next on our agenda, I think this ride is due for a major refurb I think it is a bit dated now.
Our final ride in MK today will be the TTA, without DD & DS there is a good chance we will be riding this several times as DW absoluetly loves this ride. (cant think why) Can anyone give me a clue? If I finally manage to get DW off this ride we will be catching the MR to Epcot.
Once in Epcot SE will be our first ride this was shut on our last trip (2007) so looking forward to this one, lets hope the refurb is for the better. On to MS, DW will sit this one out. We will then head for TT, on our first trip to WDW in 1998 TT was due to open but to our bitter dissapointment it was not ready to open and we had to wait to the following year before we could ride it. This is a great ride.
Our ADR is at the R&C tonight. We will make our way to the UK & have a couple of drinks, hopefully outside the R&C weather permitting before dinning. We would love to see Illuminations after dinning, from the Balcony of R&C, so hope to get a table outside, otherwise I believe you can go outside once illuminations commences. Head home to CBR by bus, well ready for our bed after a hetic first day.
