I have about 11,000 points and am wondering what the best thing to cash them in for our trip would be? Anyone have any suggestions?

Do you have passes yet?

I've been getting webbies with my points & then buying park passes for my trip.

Whatever you decide to do you should cash in soon based on your countdown.

I agree. Go for the Webbies, but cash out soon. Based on my past experiences, MyPoinys seems to send out their Webbies in batches. And they seem to send them out around mid-month. So you're too late for May, but you should be able to get them before the end of June.

Three $25 Webcertificates would cost you 10500 points. You can then save the other 500 or so for the next time (the smallest cashout takes 750 points I believe).

Since I knew I was going to be getting a bunch of Webbies, I went ahead and purchased the reusable plastic card from Webcertificate for $6.95. I think you need another 7-10 days to get it in the mail, and you have to actually CALL Webcertificate to get it. Otherwise you can just try printing your account information and taking it to the Disney Store. Some people have had luck getting a Cast Member to just run the number through manually. Depending on how you are paying for your room, you can also try calling the hotel and giving them the Webcert number and getting them to apply the amount of your Webbies to your room cost. Does that make sense? Since we stay using my brother's DVC points, we don't have to worry about paying for the room, so we didn't take this route.

I've got $25 on my card right now--gotta get to the Disney Store and buy some more Disney Dollars!

HTH!

I have used Rainforest Cafe GC's, Olive Garden, Walmart, and Mobil Gas Cards, on my trips. I usually have a rental car, so I am able to go off site for things.

Given the amount of time left until your trip, I would have to agree with jjohnson and Eilonwy. The other GCs cost less point-wise but they may not arrive before you leave for your trip. However, with MyPoints' current record regarding webbies, you are almost sure to get them before you leave.

Can you tell me a little more about the web certificate that you purchased? What is the advantage to purchasing a plastic card? Is it that as you earn a webbie you just have the amount added, and therefore the turnaround time is faster? If you earn a webbie on another reward site can you have it added on that same one? Anything else you can tell me would be great. Also, how do you redeem a webbie for Disney Dollars? What other "disney related" ways are there to use it?

THANK YOU!!

I've cashed mine out for Rainforest Cafe GC's and also webbies to use while at Disney! :)

Have a great time!! :)

The "advantage" of having the plastic card, IMO, is that you can use it anywhere you would use a regular credit card. It's just a debit card issued by ecount. Once you have an account with WC, you can add any Webbies you earn from any award program to your account. You don't need to have the plastic card to do that. The plastic card doesn't get you the rewards any faster. I just didn't want to deal with the hassel of the CM at DS refusing to run the number through. Once MyPoints (or anyone) issues you a Webbie, you get an email. In the email is a link to activate the Webbie and add it to your account. So you really don't get the Webbie until you go through the link.

Since I have the plastic card, I just go to my Disney Store, say "Give me $xx DD." Hand them my card and they just treat it as if I handed them any other Credit Card. I also had two debit cards from Ford testdrives we did a while ago, and they rang each of those up as a separate transaction for DD. I added up all the money I had received in checks from survey sites, and put that amount on my Disney Visa. I purchased $313 in DD that day. I have $25 on my WC Card right now, and another $30 in the bank from survey/eBates. So that's another $55 DD waiting for me to buy. Add in the $50 Amex cheque from the Pontiac testdrive, and $27 in Disney Dream Reward Dollars from my Visa waiting to be redeemed (once I earn some more), and I've got almost half of our next trip already saved for. :bounce:

HTH! Did I answer everything?

I use my points for webbies. I make a payment on my hotel balance with these.
