I have one web certificate and enough points for 2 more. Do I nee to order the plastic card or can I use these online somehow for our upcoming WDW vacation?? I emailed Disney asking and they kept writing to me about the Disney Visa rewards!! I should have asked here first!! THANKS!!

I used mine to apply to my room balance. I called twice with 2 $10 webbies and had them apply a payment to my room that I had a annual pass ressie for. The balance wasn't due until I arrived so it helped bring my total down. They never asked to see the card at check-in because it had already gone thru just fine.

It's an option if you booked thru Disney direct and still owe them money. I have not tried the DD's at the Disney Store myself, but others have posted that they have had success.

Sorry for being out of the loop ... but I am interested .. how do you get these points? How ca you use them? Thanks ...

akline,

You join MyPoints.com and shop through their site, sometimes they have surveys, and they send out bonus emails worth 5 or 10 points for clicking on the link.

You can cash them in for a number of things--mostly gift certificates for places like Rainforest, Barnes&Noble, JCPenney, etc. There are also gas cards. And most of the people here cash out for what we call Webbies from Webcertificates.com. You then set up an account with Webcertificates and get a number that can be used anywhere MasterCard is accepted. It's a debit account. You can also pay them $6.95 to get a plastic card that you can use in the "real world" anywhere you would use a MasterCard. Lots of people do this and buy Disney Dollars with them. Some people have had luck just printing out their account info and getting the cast member to punch in their number.

HTH!

So, if I have enough points for a web certificate I will receive an e-mail with a number and I can use that for WDW? I do not have to get a plastic web card that will charge me for non-use? (I think I read that there may be a charge if not used in 6 months...

The email you receive doesn't have the number in it. It's just the link to redeem for the cert. You have to set up an account with Webcertificate.com, and then the money is deposited into your account. If you have more than one Webbie, you put them all in the same account. Your account number is your "MasterCard" number. You can use it online or over the phone without needing the plastic card.

But regardless of whether you have the card or not, your ACCOUNT will still be charged dormancy fees if you don't use the money.
