Cash stays....can someone explain please?

Do we as DVC members get a discount for cash stays at the DVC resorts? Is there certain times these are not available. Do you go on the regular WDW web site to make a ressie? Just for future reference...thanks.

DVC members get a 25% cash discount at DVC resorts. You just call member services for DVC and tell them you want a cash reservation at whatever resort and what room size and date you want, they will give you availability and price.

We have on occasion added a night (before and after) using the cash inventory... sometimes it is your only option... Actually, having the cash rooms available has been a real blessing.

So......there is an allottment of rooms set aside then just for cash ressies? So maybe they have NOT ROOM AT THE INN so to speak for points but do for cash? Do I understand that to be correct? Also, are the rates different depending on what time of year it is?? Thanks

There is no allotment of villas for the member cash discount and the member cash discount is NOT always available. The first priority for MS is to reserve ALL villas from the member inventory using points. There are times when either from past history or current reservation information that MS is satisfied that a villa will not be needed for point reservations and then it may be made available for the cash discount. Weekends are often available - even at 11 months, but there are also times when the member discount may not be available until about 6 months ahead if at all. MS can advise.

The member discount can only be reserved thru MS. Availability of cash reservations thru CRO is independent from the member inventory available only thru MS. The CRO inventory is usually available due to members using points for non-DVC reservations like the Cruise, other WDW resort stays and Concierge Collection reservations.

Yes... but it is not really an allotment... it is mostly the points given up when reserving a place outside of DVC. When you use your points to stay ouside of DVC then Disney has to sell your points to pay for you're off-site stay. This is much of where the cash inventory comes from. We have on a number of occasions found cash rooms available when point rooms were not. And we've been thankful for those rooms...
