I hope I word this correctly....

When you make a "cash" reservation thru MS, does the room come from the inventory for DVC..... or from the percentage of rooms which are considered non-DVC inventory?

TIA!

"Member Cash" reservations can come from a variety of sources. MS first priority is to reserve DVC villas using DVC points. If MS believes, either from past experience or actual current reservation status, that a villa will not be reserved using points it will make that room available for cash reservations to members including the 25% member discount. This can sometimes be considered "Breakage" income and even applied to reduce our membership fees (just like any member inventory remaining 60 days prior to arrival).

Other inventory is also used for member cash reservations (some with the discount, others without). Villas freed up when members use points for non-DVC options (cruise, other WDW resorts, Concierge Collection) are also used for these cash reservations. The 2-4% held by DVD is usually needed to replace inventory lost during renovation/maintenance, but can also be used for cash reservations when not required for rehab. In addition, Developer Inventory can also be used for these cash reservations. Developer Inventory is comprised of villas not yet declared into DVC inventory during active sales - like BLT, THVs and Aulani at this time. It is up to the developer whether these villas can be discounted to members.
