Cash Reservation Question

When using the member discount to book nights on cash (assuming, of course, that there is availability) does any sort of home resort booking window apply? In other words, can you only use the member cash discount with 11 month priority at your home resort, but you would have to wait for the 7 month window to book at your non-home-resort? Or can you book cash nights at any resort as far in advance as you want? Up to a million years in advance? Or what?

I don't feel like I'm wording this very well! Help! Please!

though to be honest - i think we've seen the last of the value resorts now that we are buying DVC. - maybe stay at mod because i'd like to see riverside but delux all the way baby.

My understanding is that the home resort / non-home resort booking windows do not apply to cash reservations. If there is availability, any member may book a cash reservaiton at any of the DVC resorts.

AFAIK, there is not generally any availability prior to the 11 month mark - so trying to book sooner than that is an exercise in futility, LOL.

DVC members only get a cash discount when staying at a DVC resort - and then only if there is availability for the cash discount. No one really knows how they determine when rooms can be made available for cash, but there are no guarantees and plenty of times when the discount (25% off rack rates) is not available.

So no special DVC discount for a room in a value, mod, deluxe or any resort that isn't a DVC resort.

I have read that some room types are not available for cash reservations, such as BWview and Standard view at BW, are GV's (and BC's) available for cash reservations?
