Now I have probably got this all wrong so if I have SORRY

but here is what I don't understand

if we pay cash for two nights Friday / Saturday night say in a 2 bedroom is would come to $425 x 2 nights without the dvc discount. I have checked out the renting threads and the points are renting for say $10 per point so if 68 x 2 e.g. 136 points were needed to rent it would come to $1360 opposed to $850.

so is this not a expensive way to do it[/B I prob. have worked it out all wrong knowing me

You have it right. Because the Friday and Saturdays cost more points than the weekday nights, many members prefer to pay cash for the weekend nights and save their points for the weekday nights..

If you value your points at $10 or more per point, then it is less expensive to pay cash for the weekend nights.

Very few will rent points for a Friday or Saturday night - it's less expensive to book directly through CRO/WDWTC, especially if you can get a discount. Disney also has a more lenient cancellation policy than most members.

IMHO, if you can get the 25% member discount for the Friday and Saturday nights,the best "deal" right now is to book the whole stay through MS. No chance of having to change rooms in the middle of your stay and the 25% discount is comparable to the best discount Disney is offering when you book through CRO/WDWTC for cash..
