Cash or Card

Kind of a silly question, but do I need to carry cash on me in the park. My husband and I are pretty cashless people we do everything by debit card, but do the snack carts take credit cards, or do I need cash to buy ice cream bars and stuff? I would hate to assume everyone in the park takes debit and then have to pay huge ATM fees or miss out on something, but I also don't want to carry a lot of cash on me.

There are a few places inside DL that don't take credit/debit. Mainly the carts.

Several of the carts don't take card. I recommend having at least 20$ cash for those.

Before every trip to DL, I get myself a Disney Gift Card and put a few hundred dollars on it. I then use that card to buy food, souvenirs, etc. That way I never use my debit or credit card at the park. I'm pretty sure that Disney gift card are accepted everywhere within the resort.

Another reason to carry cash - one sleepy toddler + waiting for Fantasmic - non functioning Credit Card Terminal = toddler breakdown.

we had all three, cash, debit card and our room charge. found some places did not take one or the other or machine was down or had to find the atm or wouldn't take room charge so had all three with me plus driver's license.

Some carts are cash only and will not accept gift cards.
OP I would make sure you have some on hand....maybe $10-20 per day depending on the snack habits.

If you find a place that doesn't take cards, it doesn't take giftcards, either. They are few and far between, but you should bring a little cash. If you have a Chase account, you're fine for withdrawals, though, as that's the ATM type that's all over the resort!
