Did you know that if you decided to pay cash thru member services, not CRO, and you were in a 2 bedroom, you can NOT get a room with two queen beds in the 2rd bedroom? I was dumbfounded. I just got switched from OKW for the second half of my 10 day vacation, and like OKW I wanted to pay cash for Friday and Saturday, didn't want to use 150 points. Well the first 5 days have been made at the 11 month mark with a request for 2 beds. So now I may have to change rooms for the 2 cash days. I can't believe it. I guess this is a way to force people to use their points. I guess the request for bed types is actually more than just a request. They actually have two types of 2 bedrooms now, at BCV, sounded like they handle it the same way as a preferred or non-preferred view at BWV, except no extra points required.

I don't remember the number, but there are very few rooms at BCV that have 2 queen beds in the second bedroom.

Were you able to get a CM rate at the BCV? If so, can I ask what the rate was?

but got the vacation member discount and the 2 bedroom was just a little over 400. So I hate to use 75 points. I know there are some 2 bed two bedrooms but they won't let you have them if you are paying cash, even if it's to extend your stay. They won't even put you on a waitlist or give you an option for those rooms.

There is a very limited inventory that they offer for member discount. Sometimes there are no rooms available for the discount. Do you think that it is only for your dates that this type of room is not available or did they tell you they are never available for member discount? If it's the latter, that's kind of an odd restriction.

But if you were paying points and were told that you couldn't have that kind of room because they were all taken by people paying cash, wouldn't you be upset? I realize it's members vs members in both cases, but maybe someone thought people using points should be a higher priority for this limited type of room?

Just throwing that out there! :)

I was told that it was a benefit to members. That they would not let CRO book the 25 dedicated 2 bedrooms with 2 queen beds so that they would be available for members. I wonder if the system can't distinguish a cash customer from MS vs. a cash customer from CRO. I feel for you. I was thinking of doing the same thing you are doing, but now I won't.

MS just said that there was no way to have a 2 bed villa when paying cash. It is possible that they can not distriguish if you are a CRO or MS cash customer. I would just think that not too many stay on site for the weekend because of the points that these would be available. I felt that if one was available that I would atleast be given the chance to get it, regardless of cash or points. And when I made my reservation they never mentioned this. I had called the other day just to make sure that all of my ressies were linked together and that is when I found this out.
well I will keep my fingers crossed that I can get one with points.

Just spoke with MS and as of February the room types have come into existance at BCV. So if you are calling for a 2 bedroom with 2 beds make sure that you specify the 2 bed 2 bedroom villa, or else you won't get it. I am not on the waitlist for the second half but 5 days on a sleeper sofa isn't as bad as 10 days.

This makes sense now. They put in these furnishings because that was what was promised to people who purchased DVC. If the number of rooms is limited to 25 it is only fair that people using their DVC points can get the rooms. When you use a member discount you aren't really "using DVC", you are just making use of a member benefit like pool hopping.

Yes you have to book the 2 queen bed dedicated when you book your stay with Member services, it is not a request situation.
