Last summer I made a ton of money via all the GPT sites, but I kind of got caught up in other stuff late last summer and I stopped visiting the sites. About 3 weeks ago, crazymomof4 asked me for a list of the sites that I used and it prompted me to get back into it. I joined CashDuck and I wish I'd done it sooner. This one is every bit as good as my previous "fave." They're crediting fast and in the past week and a half I've made $196.27 (plus about that much in pending offers). I've even racked up $11.07 in referral income already from just three referrals. This is definitely one for the newbies to check out!!!

I agree, I have been doing cash duck since april and it has helped me click my way totally to WDW. I have made over $1000 since I have started!!

that's great!

I was really happy with Cash Duck this morning. I had submitted a non-credit form for Video Professor, pretty much expecting to kiss my $6.95 good-by. This morning I had an Admin Credit for the $6.95 sign-up fee. I really appreciate that.

As for crediting, it kind of goes the same as Treasure Troopers for me. I struggle trying to get anything to credit for a a couple of days, and then a whole bunch come through at once. I'm over $100 for the month with them however -- so overall I'm very happy. :)

No referral money though. I keep buying referrals there and I haven't hit a good one yet. :headache:

In the time since I made this post I've had a bunch more clear and now I'm at $222.07, which means I get the $10 bonus at the end of the month! :cool1:

They haven't updated the system yet, but it also puts me on the board (just barely) for the June Big Contest! I doubt I'll end up winning in that one, but the $10 bonus is nice!

My referrals at TT have been pretty good. I have $290 in referral income from that site and about $1k overall.

My account was credited with a "Paid To Signup Contest" for $10. I guess the $10 is instant once you hit the $200 mark. I thought I was going to have to wait until the end of the month. :)

Okay, I'm new to this part of the disboards...I am usually over on the picture and photo. boards.

What is this cash duck? Can someone explain it to me?

Thanks!

Hi formernyer!

I love CD too. Kira gave me credit ($6.95 s&h) for a video prof. offer that was denied. That was really nice of her. The cust. service there is great!

I am not currently doing much on the GPT's bc of going on vacation in a few days. I am somewhat concerned with the recent messages I've been getting from various sites (RHC earlier and SR and CD today). It seems that there is some "shaking up" going on in this industry. All I can say is, "It figures!":sad2: -- I get into something and with in a few days, the bottom falls out of it! Am I a jinx??? I want to read more threads here that touch on this, but I'm so busy packing. I hope that when the dust settles, this is still a good way to pick up a little extra $.

What do you think is going to happen w/ all of this? :confused3

I just signed up for cashduck on Sunday. So far, I've done a few of the free surveys and only got credited for two. I think I did too many too quick. I also did a paid trial and of course, did not get credit for it. It states it could take up to a week, but every one mentions how fast they credit. It's worth 18.00 and I would really like for it to credit. I'm leary of doing any more offers until that one credits but I'm afraid I'm also missing out on a lot.

Okay, I just did the same thing...I signed up for a $21 one that has to be canceled in 7 days and they said to give it a week to credit, and since this is my first one, I too am leary of doing any more until I see if this one pays out.

Is this normal? They said I would receive a confirmation e-mail, and I haven't gotten anything all night from the company.....

Now isn't really a good time to be jumping in and completeing big offers. Advertisers are pulling offers left and right so there may be issues with some of the offers listed. Honestly, I would hold off just for a week or two while the dust settles and the kinks get worked out. Stick with the freebie offers and surveys for now. Those can really add up quickly as well :)

As for crediting issues, I have had great luck with things crediting at CD. Out of the 30+ paid offers I have done, I have only had to file 4 non-credit forms. 2 were finally creditied, one I received a refund from Kira for the amount I was out and the 4th was submitted to the advertiser and is still pending.

For freebie offers, make sure to space similar ones out over a couple of days. Also, run spy-ware and adware daily (if not twice daily). Clear out your cookies and use the google dot trick to give yourself different emails to use. ALso, make sure to click any verification emails that you recognize in order to receive credit. Just make sure that you do recognize the offer that they want you to verify.

Make sure to keep any documentation about the offer such as confirmation emails, shipment emails, etc.. If you did an offer where CD requires that you submit an email used, then you won't receive credit for that offer until you submit the documentation. Those credits are done manually and she needs some way to verify the lead.

The best advice I can give is don't give up! Things are changing right now but there will still be plenty of ways to make $$$ thru GPTs :)

The problem that the GPT sites are having with the advertisers are the result of a particular fraud.

People are paying for trials with prepaid visa and/or gift cards. The cards have only enough balance to cover the initial charge, but not the recurring fees if you choose to keep the service. Some people are even using fake cards.

If you use a real card, with a real line, you should be ok.

The free offers are not being scrutinized as much at the moment. The problem is with CC offers paid for with prepaid cards.

It isn't just the prepaid thing! There is rampant fraud with false addresses, multiple sign-ups, etc. There are many of us who have been signed up for offers that we didn't personally sign up for. When we call and report those sign-ups as fraudulent it gets reported to the advertising firm as fraud as well. Some of the sites have been hit really hard with reversals from "members" who came in and racked up credits quickly and then disappeared, leaving the site in the hole for all those reversals. Don't even get me started on the fraud that many of us have been victims of by the companies themselves who want to charge you even after the program has been cancelled

I went to prepaid cards because I had to cancel 2 credit cards because of fraud! Now that many sites aren't accepting pre-paids, Ihave set aside one card for offers only and I monitor it very closely!!!

They may not be ok with using a real card. Advertisers seem to be pulling credits that were legit because of fraud with certain offers. Some are revoking all credits for particular offers.

No one really knows what the end resuilt of all this would be. I would just suggest to people (especially newbies) that they hold off for a week or two while things calm down and become clearer.

I started using a dedicated card for offers too (the AMEX from CD with the $110 kickback, plus the card gives you enough points to get a $50 GC after your first purchase).

I've been using my regular credit card but using virtual account numbers. I can create a new account number with a specific amount of allowed charges over a small time frame. I do this in case I cancel and they don't cancel my charge. I can increase the amount and/or time frame if I do decide to keep the offer. I used to work at a bank and I saw people all the time who claimed they canceled a "free" trial, but the debits continued. Anyway, would the advertisers consider this fraud? I'm using a real credit card, but just protecting myself from fraud.

I think it depends on the structure of your virtual card. For example, there would be no issues if you used it for shopping purchases as those are usually one shot deals. Now on those trial offers it depends. If its the type of thing like Discover card has set up you get a virtual number to use per site. Then that site can keep using the virtual number but no one else can. I think that would be ok because they'd still be able to charge you if you didn't cancel your trial. If its more of a one shot type number where once it was used for a transaction it was over then they might consider it more like a "prepaid" card and you might have issues.

And it is all hard to say, because some have said that if you are doing what you should and cancelling your trials, then those cards aren't an issue. What is the problem is many people think that because there are no funds on the card, then they aren't liable and don't have to cancel the trials, that is where the problems lie!!

I was thinking the same thing about myself. So if you aren't the jinx then it must be me!:rotfl:

I have about $2 or so on my Simon visa and I've been very diligent about canceling trials. I usually wait about 4 or 5 days into the trial (longer if it's a 10 day or 2 week trial) before I cancel. I've been thinking about getting another simona virtual account and putting some more money on this one to do more trials, but now I"mt hinking I should wait and see. What's everyone's opinon on this?
