Cash Discounts

I know this has been discussed before, but do DVC members receive a discount when paying cash for a reservation? If so, how much is the discount? If it varies per resort, I am mainly interested in the cash discount at HHI.

25% off of Rack Rate for DVC resorts Only. Discount is subject to room availability. And, the DVC member MUST be staying in the room (in other words, don't expect to get the discount if you are also booking a stay on points or if you want to pay cash for 2 rooms.)

When you book a room paying cash with a member discount...do you pay a deposit? Do you pay for just one night, or the entire stay up front? What are the cancellation penalties?

They don't require a deposit but you must give a credit card as a guarantee. If you cancel 5 days or less, they charge 1 night.

Cash nights come from the member pool of points and they are only available if they anticipate they will not be booked for points. Housekeeping is treated like a points stay. If you extend a points stay with a member discount, they treat it as one points stay.
