Casey Anthony Trial Thread #3

Let me say this loud and clear. I do not hate Casey Anthony. I do hate what she did to her little girl as well as to other innocent people (ie: Zanieda) as well as her lying about so many things.

As far as Baez goes, I think he is in over his head a bit. Calling in Vasco Thompson as a surprise witness when the guy didn't have that phone number in 2008 is just a simple mistake that could've been avoided by proper verification. I don't care if his staff member made the mistake ... it's his case and he should make sure his ducks are in a row before he starts calling witnesses. That simple error makes him look foolish. And texting during testimony? Really??? Request a break if you need to get information. Even writing a note to give to a staffer looks like you're taking notes from the case. The texting was very unprofessional.

Finally, cursing at reporters? Not very professional and makes him look foolish.

My lingerie party for the jury was a hit. Everyone seemed to love my one-piece ensemble
:rotfl:

I always giggle to myself when he asks the jury about their evenings or lunch, or special delivery like he did today. He seems so please by himself that he is able to do something neat for them, he seems to genuinely have fun and enjoy his job.

From what I can see, the real Zaneida filled out a card at Sawgrass on June 17th, one day after Caylee was last seen. Was that the same day that Casey and Tony went to that apartment complex?

I had only read that she talked about having a nanny for years. The only person I heard specifically say the name Zanny was Cindy and I don't believe much of what she says. Did any of her friends testify that they had heard about Zanny for years? It really would be odd that she had a fake nanny that she named Zanny and a day after her daughter dies, she stumbles on the name Zaneida.

I think several of her friends said they had heard about Zanny but never met her.

I think that he realizes what this is like for them and tries to make it enjoyable in small ways. Whether it's a surprise dessert or lingere party (haha) ... he knows that it's the little things like that that matter and make things more bearable for the jurors, I'm sure. And, when he asks the jurors how their lunch/evening/etc. was, it shows that he does care about them and is appreciative of them.

I love JBP!!!! I want to bring him home with me!!!

I was just reading something about KC texting today?!?! For anyone rewatching the trial can you keep an eye out for that. They said she has the phone in the binder.

Just got news that I will be with you guys on Tuesday :guilty: My surgery has been postponed because the anesthesiologist wants me to see a cardiologist for all new testing prior to surgery to make sure I can make it thru.

So sorry to hear about your surgery. Hopefully you can get it done soon. If you find anything else about Casey texting can you please post it?

I just don't hate anyone over it. Sorry. I realize that it is an unpopular stance.
I don't hate anybody either. Just wanted to make that clear.

:lmao::laughing: Very funny!

As much as I can't stand Nancy Grace, she did bring up a good point ...

When ICA got her tattoo, she threw a pizza party at the tattoo parlor, stayed and chatted about everything but Caylee. NG pointed out that, when people get a memorial tattoo, they usually talk about why they're getting it, about the deceased, about why they chose that tattoo, etc.

Interesting, yes?

I am getting flashes of the movie Jury Duty with Pauly Shore--wondering if some juror will do something similar if Perry is making it all fun and tolerable.

Is it possible that Baez actually IS a bozo, and the prosecution IS doing great? :confused3

Seriously. Baez is NOT doing a good job. He is all over the place and while he may be trying to do a good job he is obviously in way over his head.

I'm just waiting for him to show me that Caylee's death was due to drowning, and George helped cover it up and that Casey was abused. He can try and poke holes at the prosecutions circumstantial evidence all he wants, but his opening statement made me want to see something that supports that...so far, nada.

I brought up earlier about people usually sharing, but someone who does get them commented that people do not always elaborate why they are getting a tattoo.

However the additional stuff is rather weird and suspect if you ask me. When does a customer for a BASIC (I.e. Not a Kat Von D creation) tattoo throw a pizza party? Weird and abnormal!

I think it is interesting. Of course everybody is different but I think it's "the norm" to talk to the tattoo artist about why you chose that particular design. My Mom, 2 aunts and I all got matching "bluebird of happiness" tattoos in honor of my Great-Grandmother. We all told our tattoo artist the reason why we chose the design and the significance of it..

This is just speculation but I think Casey felt like she had to "buy" a lot of her friends (with Cindy's money of course).

I keep thinking of that movie, The Usual Suspects. Casey really reminds me of the character that Kevin Spacey played in that movie. If you've see that movie near the end when the police finally start putting it together, you'll know exactly what I mean.

On a different topic, I just LOVE Judge Perry. He is such a hoot. He has now moved onto my list of "People I'd Like to Eat Dinner With."

ok - i thought she just ordered pizza for lunch.

NG keeps calling it a "party" but that's not what the tattoo guy said on the stand. didn't he just say after the tattoo she ordered pizza for lunch, they ate and talked then she booked her next tatt for the 19th?

where is the "party?"

I agree with this. I think that is the reason her "friends" don't really know a lot about her. I don't think they really cared. I think she bought them with booze and sex and that is why they liked her but I doubt there were any true friendships there. Just my guess.

**This was suppose to be something like post #445 but instead it is post #3. I know things are messed up but this is really bad**

I just posted a reply and it ended up posting on the first page, post #3. WTH?? I know these things have been out of order all day but this is crazy.

Not having a single tattoo, when NG stated that, I thought about Miami Ink and how they all talk about their tattoos. Because that's all I've been exposed to as far as the tattoo world, I guess I went hmmmm because it's what I've seen on tv. And, of course, they only show the chatty people who want to tell their stories on tv. My guess is that NG probably doesn't have tattoos either and probably figures (as I did) that everyone who gets a tattoo is like the people on Miami Ink and talk about why they're getting it.

And now, in thinking about it, maybe the "pizza party" isn't so odd. It dawned on me that the tattoo artist testified that he was friends with ICA, right? Maybe she was friendly with the rest of the staff, too? So maybe she was hanging around and they decided to order a pizza and she joined in? Maybe it wasn't the pizza party that NG is making it out to be but just "hey, I'm hungry, who wants pizza?" so she stuck around for that.

Still kind of makes you wonder what her attitude was like getting that tattoo.

She talked about Zanny to many of her friends for years. I think she just got lucky finding someone to blame it on when she really needed it.

I wonder what she would have come up with if she hadn't seen that information at the apartment? What name would she have used or would she have said "I never knew her whole name".

I take 50 % of NG says with a whole big grain of salt. She sure does like to exaggerate and sensationalize things.

There was no party. They ordered pizza, she paid for it, they all ate it. That is just the NG flair.

I wonder the same thing. She was probably doing a happy dance when she found that card in the apartment office! She totally "lucked out" on that!

True story! She always sounds like she's about to cry over this. I don't know if that's her speech pattern/voice or whether she's choking back tears.
