Casey Anthony TRIAL thread #2

According to a judge on the local news, there have been multiple cases in Florida where it has been ruled that the demeanor of a person on trial cannot be used against them in that all people react differently to different situations. That would mean that the majority of the witnesses first presented by the prosecution would be a problem. This could be grounds for a mistrial. Although, Perry has been doing everything possible to avoid a mistrial. I'm not sure he would point out anything that would help the defense in that direction.

Can the lying be used against them? ;) I thought the witness where attesting to her lies about the nanny and that Caylee was fine and certainly not dead or missing. She told the tattoo guy she would bring Caylee in for her next appt!

No clue. They said nothing about lying not being admissable.

It seems like Judge Perry was trying to HELP the defense by giving them that case and more or less telling them that is how they should handle Casey's calm demeanor.

dippy can't ever say judge p was predjudice against him since he's basically been his teacher throughout the entire trial

Jayne Weintraub (who I CAN'T STAND) is on HLN Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell show and actually said that the tattoo is a form of commemorating her daughters' life.

Bolded by me, I don't believe what Jayne said for one minute.

The tattoo doesn't say Caylee's name, initials, anything tied to her. It is also on her back, if I was getting a tattoo to commemorate someone's life I would want to be able to see it easily.

Thanks for posting the link!

You're welcome! I've become a detective since this case started! I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when it's over! :lmao:

Exactly!

No. The state brought in witness after witness to show that Casey did not seem distressed after Caylee's death. They showed pictures of her partying. Based on other case rulings, that kind of thing is inadmissible because no one reacts the same to loss.

You know, I can understand what the intention of the rulings has been in the past, but I have to believe that anybody would see Casey's activities as extreme, and it would be a crime against justice if the jury wasn't allowed to see evidence of her actions during that timeframe. But, I've said before that it often seems like the guilty have a lot more rights than those they damage. I certainly hope that doesn't become a problem - but it shouldn't! :headache:

Aisling PI? A whole new career could be open to you! :goodvibes Maybe, you could do research for inept defense teams!

ya but a lot of people get commerorative tats on their back.

some on their arms, some on their chest som hips some legs. there's no "right" place to put one

depends on what it is - the size and were the person feels comfortable with it. not everyone wants tats on their arms where everyone can see it if it's something between them and the person who passed.

Yes he did! I went back & listened (and used my rusty shorthand!) :lmao: Here's a synopsis

Bobby Williams knew KC had a daughter, Caylee.

On 7-15 KC told BW Caylee was with the nanny, and "Caylee would be in the shop on the 19th when she (KC) came in for her appt.".

Either way it's damning - whether you go with the Zani story or the drowning story.

I'm watching Nancy Grace and they're showing Cindy in slow motion mouthing "I love you" to Casey. And showing a split screen with Casey's reaction. Casey looked away. OMG I want to cry for Cindy!

OK so now that they are about to rest their main case... who do you think was the prosecution's BEST witness?

I think I will have to go with Dr. G. She mopped the floor with Mason and even addressed their defense story.

I think it was Detective Melich. He really showed how big of a liar Casey is, and gave her plenty of chances to come clean.

Casey herself didn't do herself any favors in those jailhouse videos, either, but I guess she wasn't technically a witness.

For the rest of you that are watching Nancy Grace, did any of you hear the voiceover just before the last break where the woman said that Casey got a tattoo that says "buena vita", how can they not even get that fact correct? I hope NG mops the floor with that PA for making a mistake like that after all this time and the fact that a picture of the tat is on the screen while it was said.
