Awesome tweet, Judge!

I raise and train German Shepherds. HoseA better be good to this guy or else!!
Really? We have a GSD. Didn't train him well or socialize him well. HUGE mistake. Big regret of ours. I'm embarrassed to admit it, because it's very irresponsible as GSD owners. Never again will we not train a dog...ANY dog...well. He's a pussycat with us...other people, not so much.

Damn...lost streaming on WESH. Missed a whole bunch of this testimony.

Wait until Baez goes after him for false positives and errors in handler interpretation. He did that during the Frye hearings. Lets see if he does it again today

What were the Frye hearings? I didn't follow pre-trial hearings.

If they've gone through questioning before this, don't the witnesses have a better idea of what they need to establish and how to answer?

It is so important to keep meticulous records of training, finds, etc. A handler may not realize how important it all is until on the witness stand one day. Handlers can get grilled there and HoseA will probably do his best to bring relliability, training and handling in to question.

Some GSDs are more social than others. Training with them is important as they are smart and also can have aggression. The most important thing is for the dog to have good nerves so that they are confident in many situations. They can then think rather than react. A strong nervous system comes from good breeding choices. Love those working dogs!!

I would love to train dogs for dectection, but I would hate to flippin' go to court one day!

Me too, had to switch to WFTV
I'm watching Orlando Sentinel, but I miss the picture of the defense. Wonder what happened to WESH. Doesn't WFTV have commercials? I think that's the reason I had switched to OS, then WESH.

OK...a little disturbing about training these dogs. But I guess no worse than the Body Farm.

Frye hearings are to decide if new scientific information and different techniques are valid as evidence. Its too prevent junk science from being used as evidence. The sides present and the judge rules on whether the science is reliable and can be admitted in evidence. This way you just can't get a joe blow to come out and say he did an experiment that showed xxx results. It has to be valid and generally accepted in the scientific community.

There were a couple of different things they tried. Vass' testimony, the cadaver dogs, the hair banding. In all of these cases, the judge ruled them admissible.

have they been on luch since 11.30? my feeds have been down but it seems too early for lunch break

If there is one thing I have learned from this trial, it is that EVERYONE remotely associated with a case needs to keep meticulous records. I don't know how any of these people remember these details from 3 years ago. I can't tell you what I did yesterday in that great of detail much less what I did three years ago!

Thank you! You're a wealth of information!

OK...is there some special lunch today? JP told them to enjoy their lunch today "That's all I'm going to say" and then said recess is until 1:30, or until the jury returns?

Mmmm, wonder where the jurors are going for lunch?

Don't kid yourself. I answer as if Im some kind of expert when in reality , a year ago, I had no idea the word Frye even existed LOL!. The things Ive learned during this trial boggles the mind:rotfl:

Are these boards slow today or is it just me?

I thought Frye was a brand of boots. ;)

Yes...very slow! Frustrating.

Well, that was hard to watch!

Who's up next?

Oh good K9 handler.

I wonder if Elmer Fudd-oops, I mean Baez will accuse Garris-the k9 and the dog handler of testifying for financial gain.:rotfl2: I cannot believe he did that with the female FBI agent and Dr. Vass.

The other day the judge told the jury that he was trying to get a catered buffet meal put together for them. Then today, he laughed when he told them to enjoy their lunch. He also said they were in recess til 1:30 or whenever the jury gets finished. I bet they are eating a pretty good buffet right about now.
