Based on the backyard view I saw last night, it's hard if not impossible to imagine that is a baby or anyone was drowning or had drown surrounding neighbors wouldn't have seen or heard all the commotion.

Sadly--MOST drownings are silent. They are not as they are depicted on tv. Now, if George was as angry as Baez says Casey claims, would a rebuttal witness be able to recall if they heard any commotion at that time?

But many children drown because drowning is silent. Even adults. It isn't like on television or in movies where the person is violently thrashing and screaming they are drowning.

Another reason why defense thinks they can get away with this fairy tale explanation.

Exactly. Even if no one heard her going into the water, because a child can just slip in and be immediately under (so no yelling for help), George supposedly started barking at Casey that her mother would never forgive her and that she would go to prison for child neglect, and Casey had just grabbed her dead child and was sobbing, and NO ONE heard that?? Yeah, it can happen. I just don't believe it.

I don't think that Baez is actually allowed to manufacture a defense like this, do I think he and Casey privately came up with this... absolutely! I just don't know if all of the members of the defense would go along with this since they can be dis-barred for making it up. This was discussed on In Session.

Absolutely correct, an officer of the Court cannot knowingly allow untruthful testimony or evidence to be given from the stand under oath. Attorneys can & do parse everything beyond the minute level. A crafty yet unscrupulous attorney could masterly manipulate the creation of this type of defense w/o ostensibly crossing the line, or most importantly getting their hands dirty.

This could be entirely the fevered creation of Casey's own mind. Her attorneys could have more than reasonable doubt of its veracity, yet choose not to view it through that lens or scrutinize any doubts closely at all -- instead choosing to forge ahead w/ every scrap of dirt supporting it they can add to their mud pile.

And besides the fact that I just don't think that George would cover anything up, wouldn't he be concerned that someone HAD heard or seen something? He was a former detective!

Then wouldn't you call authorities? :headache:

Please, it would be more believable if Casey acted like a parent and called for help. She didn't. Thats total ********.

If this was made up I dont think the other attorneys would know as it may get them disbarred. If they did find out dont you think they would turn him in? This would set this whole trial in utter confusion.

I don't think Baez created the sexual abuse and drowning defense, but I wouldn't be at all surprised that he, with his questioning of her, planted some ideas. And she's so good at creating lies, they each led each other to this defense. I don't think Baez is lying...I think this is what Casey has SAID to him, but how'd that occur? That's what I think, FWIW. :)

I dont recall, but when Baez made that statement that Caylee drowned did he mention a time? Because George worked an afternoon shift, Cindy worked the day shift.

I am also a little surprised that there is no question about the times that casey was suppose to go to work. I mean was she suppose to be working mornings? Did she go in the afternoons? I am trying to understand when these happend. Or am I just being strange in my thinking?

One other factor, casey is not working so when you see her purchasing things from pennys she is using a bank card. I wonder if the pros got a look at her bank statements to see what she was depositing in the account.

I think it was made up...his whole tactic is to confuse the jury enough.....to acquit.

Several callers called in to a local radio station yesterday that had been watching, that would be the likes on the jury and they were believing it.....it only takes one.

I love that George has pulled up his pants and is really giving it to her now.

With Baez and all his side bars we will all be sitting here Labor Day Weekend.

He accuses George of holding his dead grand daughter and then asks him he hasnt seen her for nine days. Which is it?

Bingo.

Casey, you need to understand that this is going to be a very difficult case & you're going to have to lay yourself bare to prove you're not guilty of this. This has to be terrible for you as her mother & I know your relationship with your parents isn't always an easy one. I need to know if you possibly let your guard down for a moment & Caylee could have possibly slipped away into the pool & accidentally drowned. Maybe you covered this up because you were terrified to face your parents, particularly terrified because of abuse you may have suffered in the past?

For someone who thinks on a level of a child trying to do anything but accept responsibility of her own actions, that's a roadmap of how to respond. He didn't "tell" her what to say. He merely questioned her in a way that seemed a logical explanation for what happened & what she did. Clean hands.

Exactly. :thumbsup2

Can I just say how frustrated I am?:worship:
SO, casey says the baby drowned, george denies it...then some guy finds the bay and hides it, then some snake thing I have no idea about...
SO, why can't the defense tell me when they Hid/buried the baby?

Meanwhile, as far as george goes, I believe him, for now...I mean the man is about to contribute to/convict/possibly put to death the daughter that also probably killed his grandchild...I mean ...is he thinking...gee, I lost the grand baby and now I have to "get thru this" to somehow support the daughter...the same daughter he has not visited or seen in 1 1/2 years...???? Perhaps that is why he is "sick over it" knowing that he is having to be put thru this/be a scape goat to somehow possibly save his daughter....to be accused..
its all so sickening to me......

Judge Perry smackdown of Baez :lmao: for walking around away from the microphone. Simple concept, Jose.

Baez is now confusing himself.
He is really ticking off the judge.

Impressed with George staying calm....he is giving Baez enough rope to hang himself.

Which one are you referring to????? Baez..neither????

Going back to what the defense stated was George's reaction to finding Caylee dead in the pool, "look what you've done, your mother will never forgive you, you will go to jail for the rest of your life for child neglect." Are they serious that we are supposed to believe this? No one said, "oh no, oh my God, how could this happen." They went straight for who would be blamed and going to prison????
