I see Casey as a spoiled brat who wanted a single life. She was a liar and likes to lie and get her way. Lying comes naturally to her, I was married to a man like that. She slept around alot, probably has bad self esteem. That doesn't mean she was molested. There are 1000's of girls out there who sleep around and have no self esteem and were not molested.

Did she have a dysfunctional family? Probably, I think most families are in some way or another. Just read the disboards! LOL...

I keep wondering if Baez is trying the case so that Casey can have an appeal on having a bad lawyer!

If what the defense is saying is true, then why did Casey research cholorfom? Why did they duct tape a dead child's mouth? Her father isn't that stupid, she on the other hand is. She wanted to be single...it was and is always about her. Well she can think about that while she sits on death row!

I so hate the blame game defense...man up and take responsibilities for your actions!

I'm sorry I even brought up the comment about not believing George molesting his daughter.

It's all your fault! Seriously tho, there's not much more I can say about the topic. Hopefully, this thread doesn't turn completely into abuse excuse vs no abuse thread, when there's so much more to the trial, including the prosecution's case.

So, she just finds out her daughter drowned in the pool, her dad yelling at her that it is her fault (believable) her response....I'm going to tell people that you molested me, you/lee are the dad?!....That reaction is totally unbelievable to me.

If I was in jail for almost 3 years and facing the death penalty you would be your life that I would have told the police every day of that time that my daughter drowned in the pool if that was the truth. There is no way in heck that I would sit in jail all that time and put my life on the line if it were an accidental drowning. I would have had investigators, scientists and anyone else I could find out there proving that she drowned in the pool by accident and that it was all a misunderstanding. It makes no sense to keep quiet and then drop "the bombshell" in court.

George and Lee have both had DNA tests and neither one of them were. I think Casey doesn't even know who the father is because she kept changing the name of the person who was the father. Also I believe that a lot of the people she has accused of being the father have had paternity tests and none of them were the father.

Even IF (a pretty bug IF) she was abused - WTH would she wait until a trial to use it to defend herself?!!! Why would she sit in jail for 2+ years and not say a peep about it?!

Honestly, it pisses me off - when sociopaths like her claim abuse to take the heat away from themselves, it just makes a more skeptical environment for those who ARE actually abused. She should be ashamed of herself - but of course she's not.

I am sorry but I HAVE to have a say about this whole abuse thing...now I have never really but this out there BUT I was abused when I was a child (not by a parent) but anyway.....I have a normal happy life,it took a while to kinda get past it when I was younger but I am happy,have a happy family,love my kids and would NEVER even think of hurting them!!!!If she was abused it is awful but that is NO EXCUSE for killing her child......NONE.I do not think if you have been abused your life is ruined forever. just my own opinion but I think it is a huge lie.My dh is a cop and he would know if something is a accident then its just that....so her dad would know that.

Of course it does. The shock value can put reasonable doubt into some of the jurors head right away.

But dissociative behavior typically has an element of memory loss, correct? I don't see that Casey is claiming any kind of memory loss. On the contrary, Baez presented a pretty detailed account in his opening statement of what Casey claims happened when she was abused, what happeed when Caylee died, and what she and her father supposedly did to cover it up.

Not always. There are different types of dissociative disorders. One can be detached, but aware of their surroundings. They also can include amnesia and/or multiple personalities.
