I don't know why but it makes me giggle every time this witness turns his head to the jury and says "Correct"

Off to pick up the kiddos from school. Last weeks and there is no aftercare. Will be streaming in the car.. At the rate this thread is going, I will see you all on the next one!

I was laying on the couch watching the trial yesterday, and my big old fluffy kitten waltzed up and plopped herself on me for a snuggle. Of course, I obliged. I said to her, "Mama loves you. I treat you better than that evil ***** treated her baby."

Sad, but true.

And like many of you, I cried more over the loss of my last kitty that Casey ever did over Caylee. That's twisted.

Attorney Brad Conway is being interviewed right now. He is George Anthony's former attorney. He says Baez is laying the ground work very well right now for Casey to claim an ineffective defense if she is found guilty.

That is ridiculous. Wouldn't that set a precedent or something? Just set out to ineffectively defend your client and you will be able to get them off with a mistrial.

Again, it just ain't that easy. Otherwise, the appeal courts would be full of cases involving people who had crappy lawyers. The "I had a sucky lawyer" angle for an appeal won't cut it, especially when she has what???? One or two other lawyers who seem to be doing a decent job, given the raw material (Casey) they have to work with?

of course, I believe they have had that aspect planned.

I really like this witness, but a few witnesses have said "correct" and it just doesn't answer the question! "Did you go to the store?" "Correct." Aaarrggghhh! "Yes" or "no".

The turning and talking to the jury I just LOVE, cuz it pisses off Baez and Cheney. And having made such a big deal about it, I think Baez and Cheney look like asses every time a witness does it. And I like that. :teeth:
Are they going to show the outline of her little body. I hate to ask that.
I wonder. And how will Casey react? A lot of eye poking no doubt.

Watching HLN. Jean Casarez said that the defense will say that the meeting Casey wanted with just her father was to touch base about the drowning and their story. And that meeting never happened...Baez put a stop to it. Why?

Also, that the juror who said that she couldn't judge people doesn't take notes, but after the first video today, that really showed a caring compassionate Casey Anthony that was asking about others, caring about others, this juror took out her notebook, wrote some things down, and put it back. And when there are sidebars, she stares at Casey. That she could be taking the side of Casey Anthony. Ugh...puts a knot in my stomach. I'd hate to see this be a hung jury.

I can hardly understand why that is allowed at all. Unless you get a public defender (or maybe even if you get a public defender), if you don't think your lawyer is doing a good job, you can fire them and hire someone else.

Sorry...my only law enforcement, etc. knowledge comes from Law and Order and The Closer. They don't require any law classes at music school!

I am wondering how the defense is going to introduce into testimony that the meeting was to touc bases about the drowning story :confused3 Unless Casey takes the stand they will have no way to do this, We know George Anthony isn't going to confirm this story and anyone else would not be able to testify to this as it would be hearsay testimony and we all know how well that goes over in court ;)

I could understand an appeal on the grounds of ineffective counsel if a defendant had just the one attorney ever. With this case, Casey Anthony, she has at least 3 attorneys with her. There's Baez, Mason and the curly haired lady.

I thought too, that the other day, Judge Perry pointed out that she, Casey Anthony, had 5 lawyers present at that time. :confused3

no - she wouldn't get off - there would be a new trial.

it would be a waste of time and money and if that's the case ddippy should be disbarred

Excellent point. Casey could only meet with ONE parent and SHE chose her father. Only she can say why. (Cuz you know she'd only tell the truth anyway. ;)) And since there was no meeting, and therefore, no evidence of anything, all we'd have is her *choke* word.

A doll was retrieved by CSI? I thought CA had the doll and wiped and febreezed it?

There's that young dark haired woman too, and I think a young heavy set guy. :confused3

And wouldn't there have to be some sort of proof that the jury might have made a different decision had the defense been more capable? I'm probably not saying that right, but if the prosecution's case is really pretty solid, and most likely the same result would have occurred with a different defense lawyer, wouldn't the verdict hold up?

tick tock - gotta leave in 4 minutes.
