"Caylee Anthony's Possible Grandmother Hires O.J.'s Lawyer, Eyes Wrongful Death Suit" -

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusiv...mother-hires-oj-lawyer-wrongful-death-lawsuit

I hope she can prove that she is Caylee's grandmother because, IMO, I think someone should sue Casey for wrongful death ...

The woman is desperate. I feel bad for her because she lost her son and now I read here, a daughter. However, she thinks Caylee looked like her son and he had gone to FL with the moving company he was working for on a delivery. She says he told her he had a child in Fl a few days before he died. As anyone with 2 brain cells knows, there were thousands of children born the same year as Caylee. I don't know how she could get DNA from her son except to exhume and then how would she get DNA from Caylee, wasn't she cremated? That lawyer is doing her a disservice. Hopefully, a judge will dismiss the case before the woman goes into debt.

I hope people continue to make ICA's life as miserable as possible, but IMHO I dont see the lawsuits going anywhere - JB said Caylee drowned, ICA never opened her mouth or took the stand, so that statement didn't come directly from her. I also read ZF-G doesn't have much to go on either, though it would be nice to see an outcome (or many) that finally holds ICA responsible.

Loved the rap video boycotting ICA's future endeavors if any:happytv:

Im not certain these lawsuits have legs either, but it will be nice to see Casey running in circles to defend herself, just like she made every one else run in circles for years.

This article states that Texas Equusearch only filed a $15000 lawsuit.

http://www.floridatoday.com/article...t-Casey-Anthony?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|Home

I thought someone posted yesterday that they were going for the full amount?

Here we go folks...

http://www.wftv.com/pdf/28525688/detail.html

The motion says in excess of $15,000, mentions $112,000 but asks for the court to rule on damages as they deem appropriate.

I'm the one that posted yesterday that they were going for $112K. I actually watched Tim Miller and his attorney on JVM, and they specifically said during that interview they were going after ICA, and they were seeking in access of $100K, ALL the money they has spent. Which mean $112K to me. I'm just passing on what I saw, and my DH heard it on HLN satellite radio on his way home, so I don't think I'm loosing it :confused3, but you never know! :lmao:

If anyone one has right to file a wrong death suit against Casey it would be Cindy and George, I don't see them doing that right now.

I agree that the chances of her son being the dad are slim to none, BUT she claims that in this conversation her son told her about the baby girl he was having with a girl named "Casey" from FL and her parents "Cindy and George who was a police officer"...

Maybe her memory is a lot like Cindy's - it seems to get better with time! :rotfl: Who knows what the truth is, but she seems to think she could be the grandmother. Highly unlikely, IMO!

How could she have a leg to stand on? She didnt have anything to do with Caylee in life and now she wants money for a child that she had no ties to. That is beyond wrong.

Is everyone really wanting to cash on this poor baby

Well, that would be great. Just like what happened when OJ lost the suit to the Goldmans, Casey could have to give everything she makes to the this lady. That would be better than nothing.

I will respectfully disagree.I do believe there was plenty of evidence. And if not for Murder, then for Manslaughter.

Just because its better to have a system that allows someone to walk away does not make the verdict correct. I believe we need to learn from this verdict. Statements from the jurors show clear misunderstandings of their responsibilities. For me, this verdict was a mistake. Accepting mistakes is only "ok" if we learn from them.

I do , however, agree COMPLETELY with your last statement. She will get hers eventually. Of that, I have no doubt.

BTW, Mark Nejame is tweeting about a law presently being drafted to forbid payment for juror interviews for at least 6 months. I hope it passes!

I agree with everything you said.

People keep saying we need to respect the jury's decision. No I don't. I can respect that they were jurors. But I don't have to respect the decision they made. It was their job to look at all the evidence and make an informed decision. They failed at their job.

As far of Caylee's Law I would like to see added that it be illegal for ANYONE to profit off a childs death. Period. Noone can sell pics or stories, be it the parents, grandparents, potential witnesses, attornies (outside of their fees), or even second cousins twice removed.

I am thinking that the first and foremost reason of the lawsuit is that it would force a DNA check to see if if paternity for her son was possible.

Without it--the Anthony's could ignore her forever.

And if she is grandma--Casey Anthony better watch out!

I only have two things to say...

First is I hope she does get her DNA test so she will know in her heart one way or the other.

Second: If she is Caylee's gmom then I'm glad she is finding out now. When she first announced she may be related I did some research. The kids in that family don't seem to have been raised the best that they could have.

According to Richard Hornsby, Casey could have served more time:

http://blog.richardhornsby.com/2011/07/for-whom-the-sentences-toll/

That's why I was hoping HHBP would start her sentence from the end of her check trial.

Hornsby is right. There's 2 ways of looking at it.

Calculating her time the way he did she either got away with 13 counts of bad checks or 4 counts of lieing to the police.

We all know she got away with murder.

What do you mean, not gone through? What did you post?

I had posted a couple of links - one to the jailhouse letters where Casey talked about two things she missed most and another longer post earlier this morning :confused3 No problem - just wanted to put in my 2 cents worth. I don't think anyone should profit from Caylee's death and if there was any profit, it should go towards searching for missing children and not as a means of livelihood for Casey or anyone else. I empathize with George and Cindy but can't understand why they didn't pursue Casey as to Caylee's whereabouts sooner than 30 days. I also don't agree with the jurors' decision - I think at the least they should have gone for manslaughter. If we never hear about Casey Anthony again, it wouldn't upset me. I just want poor little Caylee to be remembered and something good to come from all of this.

Just found this: http://www.cayleedaily.com/2011/07/texas-equusearch-files-lawsuit-against-casey-anthony/

A lot of it is exactly what I saw on JVM last night.

ohhhh the nuts come out of the wood work don't they.

Casey never said WHO the father was after the half dozen or so guys she did name died or were dead when she said they could be the daddy

and if she wanted to be Caylee grandmother then why didn't she come forward in 2007 when her son told her just before she died?

I understand wanting to find out if she was her granddaughter but trying to get money is outrageous to me.JMHO

I'm willing to cut her some slack until we find out the whole story. She might be a money hungry, fame seeking, you know what. Again, not thrilled with that but in this case, I could let it slide. On the other hand, she may be just as appalled as the rest of us have been by the verdict and she wants to do something positive. Maybe she would sue and donate the money to help find other missing kids. We don't have a clue what her intentions are. I imagine it wouldn't be easy for someone to meet their granddaughter when the father had minimal contact. I'm thinking Cindy wouldn't take too kindly to some lady showing up on the doorstep claiming to be the other grandmother.

I knew they were lying about changing the date she got out! She was listed as an inmate on their website this morning and as of right now she isn't! She is out!!

I haven't read the last 5 pages of this thread or watched TV, has this been reported yet?

Caylee has been going for over three years, she should have came forward sooner
