But, the IRS sits ready and waiting for her. She isn't quite Richard Hatch...but they will be keeping a closer eye on her as well as addressing the taxes, penalties, late fees and interest on her failure to report $200,000 in income.

Good point Lisa! The IRS has most certainly not forgotten about the money she owes them and will get their money, with interest. If Casey gets any money, after the IRS gets their large cut, and Zenaida Gonzales gets whatever cut she is awarded in her civil suit, Casey will blow through the rest of it and be back to destitute in no time.

I'd also like to see that Vasco guy (the one with the cell phone number issues) slap a suit for dragging his innocent name through the mud, too. Poor guy had the world knowing that he was charged with a domestic kidnapping when he was probably trying to keep that as quiet as possible.

There was NO PROOF? Um her baby was missing for 31 days before being reported to the police? What do you call that? Child Abuse? Neglect? Endangement? She's out partying the whole night after she was reported to police to be missing. There was 84 searches on Cholyroform on her hard drive, there was stench of a body that was decomposing in her car, there was duct tape with a heart outlined (she has heart shape stamps in her home). Lastly, she didn't shed one tear! Oh, but wait there wasn't any proof! Get real!

I understand it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck.....but in the end its not a duck! The state failed to prove the case. I was thinking this last week......she was going to get away with it. My mother in-law called me a fool....."i didnt know what i was talking about"......" she murdered her child" . My mother in-law called me today stunned. I am not going to vote guilty and lock someone up for the rest of their life, or possibly the death penalty, based on WEAK evidence. I need SOLID proof before I make that decision.

Posters are criticizing others for their opinions because they presume those posters have never been on a jury.

Well I have. Five times. All different cases from civil to criminal.

I did pay attention to the trial. (Once upon a time I was in law school but life took a turn.) You cannot rely on facts not presented at trial. But you are entirely within the law to evaluate that evidence based on your life experiences and common sense.

This verdict was inexplicable. I know they don't have to explain themselves. I was always asked, along with the other jurors, to explain my thought process by both losing and winning counsel. This is the only way to learn from their mistakes.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I completely agree. And this jury was told to use their common sense. It is inexplicable.

That wasn't too hard to do with some only having an 11th grade education, one that doesn't like to judge, one or 2 that were abused, or had abused and one or 2 with their own legal run ins with the law. I don't know about you , but these aren't my peers.

That is NOT true.

Anyone on threads 1-5 that said anything other than "kill the *****" was sent away bloody. Trust me on that.

While I'm at it, IMO Ashton is the reason she walked. I would have given him the "flying Mathew" long before that guy did.

I think I was there for at least threads 2-5 and several times I mentioned that I thought Casey would walk on all but the lying, Baez was a creep, but in this day and age of immediate gratification people want a video or a criminal with their finger on the trigger. I had a fear that this jury would go that way... I wasn't quite right, they latched onto the first thing Baez said, which was ludicrous, not even believable. Regardless, even though I held the views I did, nobody sent me away... Maybe it's because I still liked Ashton & LDB... the defense was in the gutter. I don't recall anyone sending you away, it was quite the opposite, people wanted to hear why you said what you did. I was happy to discuss my somewhat different viewpoint, I just wish I had been wrong.

Honestly, common sense is lost these days. People can't/don't think, critical thinking skills are lost. This verdict is proof positive of what is happening in this country--the dumbing down of society. The natural love between a mother and child--none here--she murdered her child, Caylee cramped her style. I am beyond disgusted with it all.

No truer words have been spoken in a decade...

How this blatant dishonesty passes is beyond me. Either you agree with the verdict and they know full well what happened. Or you disagree with the verdict and only their darling daughter holds the answer, are they just letting us know the most documented liar in trial history will simply carry on as usual and they will enable for eternity?

I don't know, the best I can come up with is that they are trying to be politically correct.

Put yourself in the jurys shoes. Seriously.....you are chosing to send this person away for life and you find yourself saying "well it looks like she did it"
"It seems like she did it". You need to be sure....the prosecution did not seal the deal and she walked. Its not about a video or anything like that.....the state knew they had a weak case and they still went for murder 1.

Well said. Physical evidence linking Casey directly and/or a cause of death she could be tied to is what I was hoping to see.

I completely disagree. They had a very strong circumstantial case. Most murder cases are circumstantial. There are very few real life Perry Mason moments.

In my opinion, the fact that the jury failed to take NO evidence back to the deliberation room shows me how inept they were.
