Besides Lindsay Lohan?

Heck, nothing new with this crew. Bill Schaeffer reported Mason made a "vulgar gesture" in open court!

Sheaffer even saw defense attorney Cheney Mason make a vulgar gesture toward the prosecutor with his arms. "I've not seen anything like this in the 33, 35 years that I've been practicing law," Sheaffer said

dandave I think Cindy knew for a long time about the stealing. Casey had previously stold money from grandma also. Cindy wanted custody and Casey was not going to allow that. I also thought that the possible fight that night was about the nursing home money that Casey used to pay AT&T, but Shirley makes it sound like that was a while prior. So now I wonder if Caylee said something on the way home that ticked Cindy off, who knows? Well, someone knows, but they're not talking or are lying about it ;)

From Shirley P (Cindy's mother) depo (note: the power was out so when they talk about the electric the power company was there working on it):

<major snip>

SP: Cindy tried not to overstep her, but she was happy I think when Casey was gone and she was, she was uh, taking care of her. But I think there was. Uh, sometimes in my head I says to myself if I want to not think that uh, I don’t not want to think that Casey, or that Caylee isn’t alive, but I just wondered if she hated her mom more than she loved Caylee.

Thank you. This has haunted me since I read it.

And THIS is where I feel the legal system is lacking. Because of the FL Sunshine Laws, for the first time I was able to slog my way through 1,000's of pages of depositions/evidence not allowed in court, much less known to the general public.

Why is the defense allowed to make baseless charges (GA, LE, Roy Kronk) yet other testimony is hidden??? (Won't even GET into the Vasco Thompson fiasco). Why wasn't Tim Miller, Jim Campbell, the Plesea's , the Grund's, Tracy Conroy, etc. called to testify? They had as much to offer as all of KC's "friends" or Krystal River Cruz. :confused3

Garbage vs trash...I will never say either again without questioning if I'm using it correctly.

:(

LMAO!!!:thumbsup2 DH had this discussion yesterday when he called DD's craft project remnants garbage.. I firmly corrected him.. NO, thats TRASH! He looked at me like I had 3 heads.

And you are right, if nothing else, we have educated ourselves throughout this trial and I thank all of you for providing some enlightening conversations and sharing great insights!

I'm done with all this. I just think it's worth repeating, that if the jurors were "sick to their stomachs" over the verdict, then they obviously had reasonable doubt over their decision. They should have deliberated until their decision did not make them "sick to their stomachs."

Yep! :thumbsup2 There was absolutely no need for them to render a verdict that left them sick to their stomach. At least six people on that jury felt Casey was guilty of at least manslaughter but after only 10 hours of deliberation, they gave up and went with not guilty. I can not blame them at all for being sick to their stomachs. I don't know how they can look at themselves in the mirror without vomiting.

I pray everyone does everything they can to try to find ways to keep her from profitting from this in any way, possibly boycotting any magazines or other ?? that offer her any money off of interviews, television movies, etc. or any other ideas.

The one thing that bothers me about juror #2 is they said they could not figure out who Caylees care taker was. WTHeck? Cindy had no custody of Caylee and Cassey was free to leave with her child at any time. This is just another excuse to not come up with a verdict? :sad2:

Unbelievable! Or...very believable? I have come to truly despise Mason. I hope the FL bar gives him hell.

And thanks for the interview with Shirley. Interesting reading.

Question for you in a pm. could be sensetive

Wow that was fast. Here's Cindy's 2nd cousin starting the Casey reputation rehabilitation train, with George all the way under the bus and with Cindy and Casey starting anew together:

Now who was the other person in the family who was also writing a book? Was she a cousin on George's side of the family, so she'll have a different story?

:rolleyes1

I thought that was so odd and stupid myself. I also find it stupid to believe GA had any part of this. A pathological liar blames her father. These jurors really were not the brightest bulbs in the bunch and this stupid thing about who was the caretaker, what does that have to do with anything.

Being the care taker was in the verdict forms. The special finding forms. It was very important thats why I found it disturbing. Casey is the mother.

They had a conference call last night with Cindy's entire side of the family. The cousin wasn't going to take Casey in unless she knew the truth. Thankfully, she demanded that they tell her everything and the "truth came out." :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: Um, okay sweetheart. You keep thinking that.

Should make a great fiction best seller. Don't buy 1 bit of that ! Sounds like she selling pre-orders for the book!

I had to skip a bunch in the last thread, but I'm back from my sister's wedding in MN and finally caught up here. I listened to the closing arguments and the verdict on HLN on XM during the drive....like most of you, I am shocked and sickened that there is no justice here on earth for that sweet little girl. I caught a little bit of a replay of Casey in court today looking positively giddy, no doubt thinking she was getting out today. I had to turn the TV off, I was just so angry. I am trying to console myself with the fact that God knows what she has done, and He will deal with her for eternity.

It is downright frightening to me that people's fates can be decided by jurors who apparently, based on their own comments given, are either unable to understand or unwilling to take the extra time to attempt to understand the evidence in the case and/or the jury instructions for the case they are charged with deciding. I realize they dealt with a lot being sequestered for so long, they would rather be back with their families, had vacations to go on, whatever, but really, how could they not look at the pictures of sweet Caylee and vow every day to do everything in their power to render a just verdict for her, no matter how long it took?! I don't know how the 6 jurors that really felt she was guilty of at least manslaughter can live with themselves now.

I do not think jurors should be allowed to make money off of the cases they participate in, too much temptation to make the decision that will be intriguing to the public, easier for them to demand higher levels of compensation to talk! I'm sure if they had convicted Casey, even of one of the lesser charges that still had her responsible for the death of Caylee, people would have been interested in hearing how exactly they arrived at that decision, was there one particular witness or piece of evidence that really hammered it home for them, but the fact that they convicted her would not really be newsworthy, as most people assumed she would be convicted of at least child abuse or manslaughter.

I'm sad....while I do not wish Casey bodily harm, I hope that somewhere along the line she finds her conscience and is haunted by what she did to her precious, innocent child and she has to live with that for the rest of her life. I really hope people do not buy any books that she writes or support any other endeavor that has her making money off of the death of her daughter, a death she most certainly caused.

On a happier note, Kurby, I'm so glad to hear Nicole is doing well! I know every hour without her home probably feels like a week, but soon she will be home where she belongs! :cloud9:

Mare, congratulations on your granddaughter! She will be one very lucky little girl, I'm sure! :lovestruc And thanks again for keeping up these threads...with work I couldn't always watch the trial but it was great to be able to come here, especially the FIRST POST :), and find all the information about the case I was looking for!

I'm still pretty much thinking it would be awesome if she were accidentally hit by a bus.

Not just her making money, she should be a wreck knowing her attorney is also making money from Caylee. I am appalled with knowing that as well.

LOL! My thoughts exactly upon listening to that! If there was really some kind of 'proof' like the caller said the TX family needed to have before deciding to take Casey in, why in the world did it not come out at trial? Why would Casey sit in jail for nearly 3yrs with the world convinced she killed her own baby if there was some kind of 'proof' out there that Caylee drowned and that George had something to do with it or at least something to do with covering it up? That makes no sense whatsoever! IMO, these people are just looking to make money and have their 15 min of fame. Disgusting, absolutely disgusting:sad2:
