Casey Anthony Civil Trials Discussion

That would, of course, involve lots of alcohol and some stripper poles. :rolleyes1

OMG, that would mean that the gainful employment set out as terms for the probation for Casey would be project manager for the park.

Honestly, I would not be surprised if she did something like that ....really.

It was thickly wooded but what I meant was that in that area it was darker than the rest of the neighborhood and it was an overcast day... not from any paranormal reason but that it was just really dark which to a soul who has past means nothing but to me it made it even more eerie. To find an area with so little light in a residential area like that is just ironic to me and I guess kind of symbolic.

YOu are so right bout the animals and toys. I thought the same thing as I saw a brand new Barbie still in the package at my feet as I stood there. I do not understand the whole stuffed animal toy or object left at the site of a death thing anyway. I did think the cross was nice it had a heartfelt homemade quality as opposed to an animal or a toy.
Oh, I see! Sorry about that! Duh!

I saw the Barbie too and kind of felt like . I don't know...I guess doing that kind of thing gave those people comfort. I liked the cross too. Even flowers kind of bother me, unless someone is going to go there on a regular basis and get rid of the dead ones. A pile of dead flowers aren't a tribute either, IMHO.
I kind of agonized over it too and could not make up my mind. In one way I thought it was wrong because it was the site of such a disgusting act but then I also thought that so many people were trying to change the vibe so to speak by going and paying respect etc that I was torn. At first I felt it was wrong to get out of the car and gawk but then when they had the artists rendition of the park it gave me hope. There is a feeling there whether real or just perceived and an energy that truly is palpable. Lots of people were bringing their children and talking to them about Caylee. Here too I am torn. In one way I think it is good for kids to understand that there is evil in the world and it comes in many disguises. On the other hand I am all for keeping kids in a fantasy world (ie Childhood) for as long as possible.
I felt awkward going too. I had been there before, a couple of years ago, under the same circumstances...I had a full day to myself on vacation, and one of the things I did was take a ride there. That's why I kept hoping, all through the trial, that they'd take the jury there, because you get a much better picture of all the distances (from the Anthony house, etc), and the thickness of the woods, etc. Not that anything would have influenced the jury, outside of a videotape of the crime. :sad2:

I didn't get out of the car the first time, and hadn't planned on getting out a couple of weeks ago, but other people came by and did, so I did too. Still, I felt awkward.
I know there is supposed to be a memorial built on the site, but imo there should be a playground with lots of flowers.
I'm torn. Part of me thinks they should just leave it alone. :confused3 Would a playground be appropriate for a place where a child's dead body was tossed? I don't know.

I guess I think that a nice park that had many uses might be good it would erase the horror of what happened and in a symbolic way show that good can overcome evil. Sadly that is the only way I can see that we can all get a sense of right overcoming wrong. WE all want to feel or I guess see that the evil are punished and that good always triumphs and we could not feel that in this case.

I guess in a way would help us feel that we have free will and can collectively overcome that which is evil. I do not really think I am expressing this exactly the way I wish but hopefully I am making sense.

I would like a small park for children to enjoy. Something like a memorial is awkward for me to see in a neighborhood.

I think a playground would rejoice life no matter how short CA life was......

Here's some more info:

Casey Anthony reported for probation in Florida Wednesday, according to her lead defense counsel Jose Baez.

Anthony will serve probation "somewhere in the state of Florida," though the exact location of her probation office is being kept secret over concerns for her safety.

"She reported," Attorney Jose Baez told Fox News. "She told the officer she understands the conditions of her probation and she was told the date for her next appearance."

Judge Belvin Perry ruled earlier in August that Anthony had until Aug. 26 to return to Florida to serve 12 months' probation for a check-fraud conviction, upholding a sentence by Judge Stan Strickland.

By the conditions of her probation, Anthony can not drink in excess, break any laws, and must report periodically at a time determined by law and the officer. She is also forbidden from leaving the jurisdiction without specific written permission.

Due to security concerns, Anthony has been granted a waiver stating she will not have to obtain employment. Instead, she must attend school, which "will be online," according to Baez.

The 25-year-old pleaded not guilty to the first-degree murder charge in a trial that made headlines globally, claiming a babysitter kidnapped her toddler. After she was acquitted, she was released from jail and dropped from public sight.

Hhmmm...let's see. What can Casey Anthony major in? :rolleyes1 We could have some fun with this.

Computers? She already has some experience.

I wonder how far they will go to protect her identity? My daughter has taken online classes at our local community college. She has had more than one class where you have to introduce yourself.

"Um.....like hi everyone. My name is Casey. They like said I killed my kid....whatshername.....but I showed them. My boyfriends name is Jose and I really want to be a pole dancer when I grow up."

Many of my DD's online classes were discussion based. When you post on the college board, your real name appears.

That is ridiculous. She needs to get a job just like everyone else on probation, the special treatment needs to stop NOW!

And who the heck is paying for her schooling online? For petes sakes she is being coddled and I cant stand it. She needs to get a job. How is she ever gonna support herself? Oh wait I guess the state and Baez will continue. She will never grow up.:sad2:

I truly despise Casey but I do believe it would be a nightmare for anyone that hired her and that wouldn't be fair to the business. Even if she got a job flipping burgers, scrubbing toilets, or telemarketing, there would be whack-jobs out there that would throw rocks through the window of the business or worse all because that company hired her. I can't come up with a job that wouldn't put others in jeopardy or truly hurt a business financially once it was leaked where she was working.

As far as school, I guess she would apply for financial aid since she is indigent. Once again we get to pay her bills. :headache:

Who reports in the evening for probation. I am friends with a probation officer and he works 9-5...so was this officer paid ot. I know this is petty but even 20.00 more is too much for the state to give toward this killer.

Okay here are a list of careers for Casey but I am unsure if they offer them on line....oh, what they hey, she can just forge the transcripts and degrees why even waste the time sending her to school. She had the natural ability to be a:

Pharmacist/Chemist

Sex counselor

President

Dopey does not need the fake ears

Pole Dancer

Prostitute

Bagger at a Grocery Store

Oh jeesh I forgot......professional thief

How about if she just does us all a favor and donates her brain to science removal while she is alive. Wow this is kind of harsh even for me!

I expect the book to be dedicated to me...or The First Post. :)

Altho it does seem like she's getting special treatment, I agree with you that anyone who employed her would be opening themselves up to a backlash.

And the probation officer went to her, not the other way around.

I think there's supposed to be a news conference or further information coming at 11. :confused3

It will not take her a while to get her GED there is no way to know who is taking an on line course unless they require a video camera. She might have one of her brilliant lawyers pass the GED courses and then on to bigger and better things.

As to the probation officer going to her......so at night did she get mileage too?

Oh my god. I think i need more sleep I really wrote casey didn't I

I was guessing that might have been a mistype!

I have to agree. While I do wish she had been found guilty and had to serve a sentence, in some ways the fact that she got off has sentenced her to a different kind of life sentence. The hype will probably wear off to a certain extent, but I don't think she's ever going to have a normal life. This isolation from the public may be even worse than going to jail for her. Who knows?
