No he is not. Jim Lichtenstein is an NBC Today Show producer. He has worked with the Anthony's when they did the Today Show and Dateline, never with ABC. He says he or NBC hasn't paid them for anything and they won't.

You are right about him being NBC. But he did become very chummy with the A's and would attend all the hearings with them. I'm not sure what caused them to have a falling out.

And NBC did pay them but wouldn't say how much.

The Orlando Sentinel asked NBC to address a rumor that it paid George and Cindy Anthony for their interview on the morning broadcast.


A spokeswoman wrote in an e-mail: “NBC News paid a nominal licensing fee for photos, which is standard in the industry.”

She would not say how much NBC News paid.

I just looked and that plane landed 2 hrs ago at Port Columbus Ohio International Airport. Do places usually fly to Ohio from Orlando at this odd hour? Casey may be in Ohio right now. If so, I'll bet she'll only be there for a short time and then go to a more permanent destination.

Did anybody get the ole deja vu when the helicopter was following the SUV from the jail? It's kind of bizarre that people would be mesmerized by watching something so mundane as that. But I remember a helicopter following a white Ford Bronco carrying another murderer down the interstate.

Google him. He used to be one if her lawyers until he was brought up on charges.

don't all airports have sound laws? in Toronto - planes can't take off past midnight and can't land past 1am.

I bet it was tough for her to hold off on the smile. Tracy McLaughlin (sp?), the "babysitter" provided by Leonard Padilla when Casey was bonded out in August '08, said that every morning Casey would count the news trucks outside the house and was disappointed when it was cloudy and there were no helicopters. Oh yeah, she's loving this. She's a celebrity! In one of her jailhouse letters, she said that she had gotten marriage proposals and "is this what it's like to be a celebrity?" I definitely think she sees herself as a rock star rather than the most hated woman in America.

It's kind of (very) annoying to hear Jane Valez Mitchell talking about the crowds outside the jail, and yet she's the biggest "fan" of being there herself.

I was watching my local stations last night and they had on the same team of defense lawyers on that covered the trial. They were really annoying me with their constant call for people to move on, get on with their lives, remember all the other children that have died, etc. All the while, they are on the air at 1:30am watching a helicopter follow a vehicle that may or may not be Casey and speculating where she may or may not be going. Isn't that a bit hypocritical? They are telling people not to treat her like a celebrity but they are part of the media that is treating her just like one. Ugh!


On another note, the former lawyer for GA & CA was on last night, Brad Conway. I liked his observation. He felt Casey will be heading to PR to stay with relative of JB because he feels Casey is a cash cow for Baez and he will keep her in his sights as long as she is of value to him. Sending her off with relatives or friends in Ohio that he doesn't know may cause them to influence her decisions. He is going to try and control the situation for as long as possible to get the most out of Casey. When she gets bored or tired of the situation and starts causing him trouble, he will dump her like a bad habit.

Ive always figured it will work out this way. Casey will soon, in her narcissistic way, start "rebelling". Soon enough she will start causing trouble, not wanting to be hidden, wanting to be out there. She will "trouble" herself right out of any help.

I say help loosely. As I have no doubt that their purpose right now is NOT altruistic.

Regarding your second paragraph, I totally agree. Baez already knows that Caseys family doesn't like him, so I don't believe that he'd let her out of his control like that.

Finally caught up on this thread! I was going to try to stay up last night and watch it live, but around 11:30 I was so sleepy, decided *she* wasn't worth it, and went to bed. I am thinking she and Baez will have a relationship and then she will trick him and get pregnant. Would that be the ULTIMATE irony?

I heard that Mark L the lawyer for George and Cindy wanted them to be a decoy for her last night. They declined. On HLN JVM was saying that Casey would not see her mother but they are good enough to act as a rodeo clowns while she makes her escape(well I added the rodeo clown part).
