Cases rising or dropping by you?

Our State of Emergency ends on Friday and places of worship can open this weekend with no gathering-size restrictions. The results will be interesting.
We walked up to the open air Farmers Market Sunday......wearing out masks......and I have to admit I was a bit uncomfortable with all the people in one place, even though social distancing was sort of in place for most folks, but only about half had masks. Barbers and restaurants have reopened to dine in, not ready for that yet myself.

Florida’s number of new cases have been over 1000 since 6/2 (a big jump from 600 cases on 6/1) but their testing had increased so the percent of positive tests had been holding steady below 6% for all tests and just below 4% for new cases but now the percent positive has also jumped up to over 7% for all labs and 5.5% for new cases over the last two days. The numbers in Texas, Arizona and Florida have been worrisome this week.

My county is now counting "presumed positive" cases as positive. People who had symptoms and tested negative or weren't tested at all - counted as positive. SMH.

I had my hair cut. My barber wore a mask. I wore a mask. The only problem was properly cutting sideburns. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

Out by me, unless a business requires face masks, people don't wear them. Cases and percentage positive are increasing by me. We have community spread.

The increases we're seeing now would be coming from Memorial Day.

I'm curious what impact the protests will have on new cases even though we didn't have many because of the high temperature outside. I'm giving it another week or two before we start to see those cases. I'm really curious about places like LA and Atlanta.

Good times.

You, or a source you are looking at, have no idea what “presumes positive” means.

I've always been more concerned with the clippers, scissors, combs and drape being clean than whether the barber was ill, and that was before coronavirus was an issue. I think those will remain issues for me. As for the the drape, prior to the pandemic, they would just put a tissue paper liner around the neck, not a fresh drape with each customer

Guess the Tennessee Department of Health isn't smarter than a DIS Board-er.

Tennessee Department of Health defined a probable case as "someone who may have tested negative by PCR, tested positive by another type of test or may not have been tested at all, but has an illness consistent with COVID-19 and may have other risk factors."

OC still trending in the wrong direction. The county health department was bullied into relaxing the mask requirement (from "shall wear a mask" to "should wear a mask"), but that was in the last week so probably hasn't influenced this chart. Just today Gov Newsom made masks mandatory statewide so that will help the county health dept to do the right thing. Downtown Disney opening on July 9th, Disneyland on July 17th.

Well it looks like FL may very well be hosting the RNC in Jacksonville. So FL is not concerned with numbers at all.

Seems strange that they are planning University classes to be mostly remote this fall after welcoming thousands of people to gather in enclosed spaces in August.

The persons of higher education believe in the science ,they are making a sound choice for students and faculty whose attendance will be for an extended period of time, weeks into months. The other group does not want to acknowledge anything scientific.

What's the blue part of the graph?

We have had a massive increase of cases in the past week. It’s pretty concerning and I hope things slow down next week. I was certain that when the weather got hotter, the cases would slow down. Looks like I was pretty wrong.

I had multiple people call me this week and report that they were positive for COVID, but luckily they all have rather mild symptoms.

If you have Disney vacation planned in the next few months, I would seriously reconsider coming to Florida.

AZ cases going through the roof.

I have happy for anyone who tests positive, if they have no or mild symptoms. BUT........that does not mean the persons whom they have infected will have the same outcome. MASSIVE increases is alarming and not at all surprising considering so many are about and about like" who cares anymore""I'm so done with it".

Yep. We’re pretty much back to normal here, and the virus is back to spreading exponentially because that is what COVID does. Now, Apple might be closing stores here again.
