Case/Cover for Ipad 2

DD wants to get her BF a case for his Ipad 2 for Valentine's Day. After looking at several, she does not know if one is better than another. Any suggestions?

I can't speak for better. I personally love my smart cover and plan on getting a sleeve for it so it has padding when I travel.

I like the roo case. I bought it on amazon. It puts the iPad to "sleep" when the cover closes to save on battery. It also wraps around to stand up the iPad for surfing the net or viewing movies.

For an opposing viewpoint: I wanted the exact opposite. I do not want the iPad to go to sleep when the cover closes. Sometimes I just close the cover briefly so that the cat can't scratch it when I leave the iPad on the bed for a minute. And I never stand the iPad up; I always hold it when I'm sitting in bed.

So I guess you have to understand how the iPad owner uses the iPad in order to choose the right case.

I really like it. All the camera holes, power holes etc match up good, it has the magnets that turn it on and off, overall it has been very good.

I have the Canvas from a company called SwitchEasy (http://www.switcheasy.com/product.php?product=CANVAS_iPad2).

I totally protects the iPad and can work as a stand.

However, after using this now for close to a year I've decided on a change. I feel like I'm missing out on slim design of the iPad. While this case is far from bulky, it adds more than I want.

I'm actually going to drop down to just a smart cover and then a "skin" backing and just get a sleave to carry it in.
