Hi Budget Board!

Forgive me if this isn't completely Budget related but I have to ask. Does anyone have any experience with Carvana? Both buying and/ or selling?

I'm in the market for a new (used) SUV and have seen some Carvana vehicles in the area, I'm assuming picking up or delivering and it got me curious. Unfortunately no vending machines in our area! They have some good options on their app for what I'm looking for and I don't have any issue with purchasing items online, but I'm wondering if anyone has any direct experience with them. Interested in how easy/difficult the transaction was, anything about customer service, did you get what you paid for, etc.

Any help would be great! :goodvibes

I bought the wife's Pathfinder from Carvana. Was an extremely simple transaction. I had to upload a little info. in advance and then schedule the delivery. When it was delivered we got to drive it around the block and the driver had all the paperwork ready. Took us about 15 minutes to sign it all and that was that. The car was a special edition and was about $1000 cheaper than the one I found that was a 150 mile drive each way. I'd buy from them again.

We sold to carvana. Easy process and very fast. They offered more than any other dealer including carmax.

I came close to buying through them last year, but a local dealership ended up beating their price. I did a lot of research ahead of time and wouldn't have hesitated to buy from them.

We bought from carvana a couple years ago. It was great! They delivered the perfect vehicle at the perfect price to our house and we had tens of thousands of options when we were looking. (We live in a smallish city, almost rural area so driving around the region to different dealerships would have been a lot of work)
My advice is to set up an alert email with your preferences and stalk the cars that are still being "prepared" for the best deals.

I don't have any issue with purchasing items online,
No experience with Carvana, but this would be the big reason I would not buy from them. If I am spending that kind of money I want to test drive, and carefully examine a car before purchasing.
And frankly. even little online purchases seem to be getting to be bigger and bigger hassles. Product not as advertised, size doesn't fit, quality of the materials not up to snuff, all things you can tell before you buy if you buy it on a brick and mortar store. Yes, most retailers have return policies, but I'd save time not making trips to the post office returning items.

Carvana has a one week return policy with a very high mileage threshhold... no questions asked, full refund. I took the car to my mechanic the very next day. Most used car dealerships wouldn't allow that.
I'm in California. Used car dealers are required by law to allow you to have your mechanic inspect a car before you buy it.

We bought through Carvana and had a very positive experience. I would buy from them again.
