Carthay update coming tomorrow (5/10)?

I am pretty sure Mexican food was abundant in Los Angeles in the 20's. Though it's likely that Jamaican food was scarcely available.

Well looking at the blog entry it mentions Jamaican Jerked Kingfish...maybe that's what she believes to be "Jamaican Food." :confused3

I have lunch reservations for June 15th, and dinner for June 17th, so I'll get to see how they compare. :)

They told me that at this time I have WOC fastpasses for the 9pm show, but can change for the later show at the restaurant if that is what I want.

I wrote this on the other thread I made about the WOC packages for CCT, but yep I also got reservations in opening day for lunch service! :)

ACTUALLY though, it was a bit frustrating. Thanks to this website I knew there would be a chance they were offering reservations today! SO, being eager and tenacious, I called this morning at 7:30 a.m. and asked if they were offering reservations? She said no, but to just keep checking the blogs. She didnt even HINT it would be today, just that it will be posted there first. So I just assumed it wasnt happening today and didnt think about it.

And around 2 p.m. I just happened to look at another Disney website to find out the site was NOW open! I was soooo frustrated lol. So I jumped on the phone and called. Got through in just 2 mins but the woman on the other end told me opening day was already sold out. Heart just sunk, but THEN she said to hold on and checked to see if there were maybe some openings. Got back on the line and said lunch was open and that made my day!!!! I wouldve preferred dinner, but lunch was just as good AND they give you WOC passes anyway, which was another reason I wanted the dinner. So end of the day it all worked out! ;)

Pretty excited now! Will spend the morning battling it out at CL and BVS and then head for 1 p.m. reservations at CCT! After that, plan to avoid those two areas the rest of the day and just enjoy the rest of DCA!

I posted this on the other thread, but I figured this would be more appropriate here since this thread doesn't deal with WOC packages.

I remember reading a post about someone who got their dollar bill framed at Jolly Holiday because it was the first dollar bill they made. Anyone think they'll be doing something similar for CCT and if there'll already be a dollar up by the time the first ressies arrive? And do you think you'd have better luck getting your dollar up at say Cozy Cone or something?

“Upon arrival, guests are greeted downstairs and escorted up the graceful staircase or by elevator to the restaurant,” says Joy Cushing, restaurant manager. The Carthay Circle Restaurant features tabletops with handsome artwork, dinnerware with the restaurant’s logo and Italian linen napkins – an upscale-casual ambience.

Diners downstairs can also enjoy the Carthay Circle Lounge for a quick meal, shared plates and a glass of wine, craft beer or handcrafted seltzer soda. The Lounge menu is divided into Bites, Rolls, Snacks, Small Plates and Finger Desserts.

In addition to opening up reservations, Disneyland has revealed details of what will be on the menu at the Carthay Circle Restaurant and Lounge. Sutton describes the restaurant’s menu as “Southern California cuisine – breezy, light and fresh.”

Dinner prices for the full menu at the Carthay Circle Restaurant have not yet been released, but are estimated at around $48 per person.

The menu offers five varieties of sustainable fish, both wild and farmed, in dishes such as sushi-grade yellowtail grilled with jerk spice, topped with a tropical salsa of pineapple, mango, black beans and lime, and Sierra Golden trout roasted with couscous, lemon and oil. The lunch menu includes an udon noodle bowl with red Thai curry broth, and an Angus burger with Tillamook cheddar cheese.

Lunch features exciting options like crispy firecracker duck wings with soy, lime, and Sriracha chili sauce; sautéed northern halibut with roasted red bell pepper, caperberry, and orange relish; and Angus flank steak cobb salad with Mine Shaft Blue Cheese, bacon, avocado, and arugula with Cabernet essence.

On the dinner menu, sample Colorado rack of lamb with fried zucchini blossoms, fennel puree, and summer succotash; grilled Jamaican jerked kingfish with a tropical salsa of pineapple, mango, black beans, and lime; and strawberry-lemon roasted organic chicken salad with jicama, haricot verts, upland cress (greens), and buttermilk-lemon vinaigrette.

Dessert sounds incredible. Try the seasonal county pie with whipped brown sugar sour cream (what?!? Yum!); toasted lemon pound cake with fresh marinated blueberries, lemon curd cream, and Tahitian vanilla Chantilly; “Peaches In All Their Glory,” with peach and white chocolate cannolis with fresh grilled peaches and peach sorbet; and the fried banana split Monte Cristo sundae with raspberry and chocolate fudge ice creams, toffee nuts, and warm caramel rum bananas.

Kids’ Menu
The 256-seat restaurant (200 inside, 56 on a terrace) will also serve a fun kids’ menu! Kids can choose from interesting options like sloppy joes with house-made slaw, pasta and mini crispy tacos, or a beef filet or fish for dinner.

I am very excited to say that I booked a lunch reservation for June 26th. They asked if I wished to dine inside or outside. I decided on inside.
Since I am a newbie to Disneyland, I had several questions.
CM was very nice. Explained that with a lunch reservation that I would get WOC tickets for the first showing which will be at 9:00 p.m.
She also explained that each guest must either order an appetizer and an entree or each guest must order an entree and a dessert. She was very helpful.
She tried to explain a few of the choices on the menu but was really not sure since they have not been given a menu.
