Those were some of my questions too.
We're also staying in GCH and so I'm wondering what's the best way to go about getting to RSR from there? Is the hotel's entrance better than the main entrance for this?
Also, like he asked, what is the "wide right technique" people keep mentioning?
And finally, it seems the FP line is a good 45 minute wait. Would it not maybe be better to just get in line right off the bat to ride the ride?
When we go we'll have 6 days in the park and so I'm hoping maybe using one of our weekdays will give us a better chance. We have a 6 and 7 year old who want to go on it almost as much as me!![]()

Didn't see your questions until now. I explained the wide right technique in my earlier post, see above. As far as the GCH vs. main gates, it is generally considered a better idea to go to the main gates unless you are one of the first few in line at the GCH. The reason is that there are only a couple of entrance turnstiles at the GCH while the main gate has a ton. You also have to go through bag check at the GCH, while at the main gate you will have already done so.
The FP line is not 45 minutes, it looks long but moves very fast. If you are there at opening and do not have early entry, the line ranges from 10-20 minutes. Not bad considering FP return is usually very speedy.
I like getting FPs for a few reasons: 1. only one person has to stand in line with all the tickets, so the others are free to do something else. 2. RSR is notorious for not starting at opening, so if you rush over there you run a real risk of standing in line for no reason. 3. I like riding RSR at night, so I like using my FPs at night time instead. 4. morning is a great time to do Luigi's and TSMM, so I like sending one person to get the FPs and then we meet them at exit to Luigi's and head over to TSMM, all with minimal waits!
