Carseats on Shuttles?

We have decided to fly into SNA instead of driving 11 hours each way (HOORAY!). My kids are both still in carseats/boosters - does that mean I need to take them for the shuttle rides to/from the airport? I am assuming the hotel shuttles to and from the park don't allow them.

I just booked a shuttle (Super Shuttle) yesterday from long beach airport and they told me to make sure I have my own. The good thing was despite my infant and her carseat occupying a seat, she was free, our 4 year old was not.

The shuttles and park transportation don't require you to have a car seat or booster. Livery type services(buses, limos, cabs) in most states are not required to have children in car seats.

California law says they are required in all cars, shuttle passenger vans, cabs, limos, etc. While they may not say anything if you don't have it, they can be ticketed because of it, as can you.

They are not required in tour sized busses and school busses (which don't have seat belts). The disneyland express is one of these.

We just rode the Disneyland express with a 1.5 year old and a 4 year old, and neither had a carseat.

Despite what others say, you MUST :thumbsup2bring your car seats for shuttle service. California law states that all children need to be properly restrained in a car seat. The shuttle service does not provide any car seats/boosters and there are no "anchors" you only have the seat belt to secure the car seat...but that worked fine for us.

Besides, whatever the "carriage" law is...I wouldn't want my child going that speed on those highways/freeways and not be in a car seat/booster.

Have a great trip!

Looks like I will just plan on checking them - probably for the best in case we decide to rent a car for some reason (which isn't in the plans, but our plans keep seeming to change). Thanks! :)

It depends on the type of "shuttle" you are taking. If its a bus type (Disneyland express for example) then no. They don't have seatbelts so you'd just have to store them under the bus. If its a van type shuttle then yes because there are seatbelts. Figure out what you are taking and from there you can figure out what you need.
