Can I request the car service to have a carseat so I don't have to bring my own?

Has anyone used WDW's car service? We are thinking of asking the GF to send a limo to the airport for us. Will they have a carseat???

I think that if you go through WDW, they'll only arrange for you to be on a Mears shuttle. That's not what you're looking for, as you'll ride with other people and possibly make multiple stops before you get to your hotel. I don't even know if they have seat belts.

Most car companies will provide a carseat if you ask for one. Just ask when you make the ressie, and then call a few days before you arrive to confirm and make sure they have the carseat noted in the reservation.

However, I'd strongly recommend that you take your carseat with you on the plane. You didn't mention how old the child is, but s/he will be much safer in a carseat while flying. Even if the child is a baby and you didn't get a separate seat, you should take the carseat so that you can use it if there's an empty seat on the plane. If you hit turbulence on the flight, your child will be much, much safer in a carseat than in your arms.

We hired Tiffany Town Car Service to take us to our resort. They will provide a car seat free of charge for our 3 year old. They come highly recommened. You may want to look at the Transportation board for more info. We are bringing the car seat carrier for the 11 month old. We didn't buy a plane ticket for him, and Southwest Airline will let him have a seat on the plane if the flight is not booked.

I also would recommend checking your stroller at the gate when you fly.

Happy travels.

Hi,
If you are able to get a car seat provided you can buy a really neat vest that attaches to your seat belt on the plane. This way if your plan has any turbulence your child can't be knocked off your lap but a few inches, Heavens forbid! I bought one for my DD when she was one and it worked great. It even comes with a card that explains what it does in case the flight attendants haven't seen one before. I think I bought it at Right Start. Good luck and safe travel to you all!!!

If your child is less than 40 lbs or less than 40", you can buy a car seat that fits in a tote bag. It is NOT FAA approved, but it DOES meet all auto safety standards. It converts a seatbelt into a 5 point harness and weighs only 4 pounds. It's $29.95 and would give you the peace of mind that you had a car seat without having to wait for a different car in case yuour original transportation forgot to install it.

BTW - they also have a lot of great kids stuff, too! I've been happy with everything I've purchased from them.

We have 2 in carseats and we always just bring them. It is no big deal, my husband always gets one of those carts for like $2 at the airport and set them on our luggage. The kids really like having their own familiar carseats. We just check 'em and they always come back just fine.

I am always afraid to use a rented carseat, they are so hard to fit as it is. Other peoples carseats never seem to fit my kids right.

Also, I am one of the few who do not like taking carseats ON the airplane. I prefer to check them. I hate lugging them, plus all my carry ons onto the plane, half the time it doesn't fit right anyway and the stewardess has to check it anyway. They just seem unweildy. My kids are tall though, so the lap belt has seemed fine since they were 2. I would definately bring one on the plane though for someone under two. They just need that extra support for safety and comfort.

How are those booster seats that you can buy for like $25? My DS's will be 4.5 & 2.5 when we go in October and I really don't want to lug their carseats or rent them along with the car. We've been considering going to the store from the airport and just buying those to use in FL. Others in our party are driving down and I'd just send them home in the car so we could use them later. My DS's are always popping or wriggling themselves out of their carseats anyways, we always have battles on car trips!

I know that FL Tours will provide a carseat. Some of the car services have booster seats I think, but FL Tours uses the proper car seats.
