Going to WDW shortly and thinking of taking a taxi from DHS to Epcot. DS will need a carseat. How has anyone in the past handled this? Do some of the taxi providers have carseats available or do I need to call ahead and request one? Thanks!

Not sure how old your child is, but seat belt laws in Florida say that if a child is 4 or up they can wear a regular seat belt with no car seat (we have a 4, 6, and 7 year old in our party that all are required to be in car seats in our home states of California and Hawaii). And if you're worried about safety for your 4+ child not in a car seat, here's an article about why you shouldn't be.
Not much help if your child is three or under, but when I investigated car seats for my vacation this is what I came up with. Interestingly, taxis are exempted from seat belt laws in your state of Wisconsin, and in mine, but not in Florida.

Here's an earlier thread that might help you if your child is 3 or under.

Just curious, but why wouldn't you take the boat that runs from DHS to Epcot? Sure, it is a little slow & stops at all the Epcot area resorts, but it's a nice ride.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards App, please excuse any typos.

How long is that ride typically from DHS to Epcot with the boat? What is the usual wait time at the dock?

What would be the quickest/easiest way to get to Epcot from DHS?

The boat takes 20 to 30 minutes, depending on wait time. Walking is about 20 to 30 minutes depending on speed. The bus will take 20 to 30 minutes, depending on wait time. I would choose any of those over a cab if I had a child that needed a car seat. Yes, cabs often have car seats, but there is no guarantee that they are clean or safe.

Is there a bus that goes from DHS to Epcot? I didn't think there were any busses that went from park to park.

In order for taxi to be the fastest way from Hollywood Studios to Epcot, you need to request a taxi with a car seat.

Alternatively you have the right to pass up the first taxi in the taxi line if there is no car seat in favor of one further back that has a car seat.

If there are no taxis and you must request one then you need to include car seat in your request.

There is Disney transportation between all theme parks parks. For Magic Kingdom the inter-park buses stop near the parking lot concourse (Transportation & Ticket Center). There has been a bus from DHS to Future World as well as the boat from DHS to World Showcase but I am not sure the bus route still exists.

Yes. There is direct transportation between all of the parks, but if you're going to or from MK you'll have to transfer at the TTC.

MK/TTC> Epcot = Monorail
MK/TTC> DHS = Bus
MK/TTC> AK= Bus

AK> DHS= Direct Bus
AK> Epcot= Direct Bus
AK> TTC/MK= Bus

DHS> TTC/MK= Bus
DHS> AK= Direct Bus
DHS> Epcot= Direct Bus (Epcot Front Gate) or Boat (Epcot Intl. Gateway)
......Boats ("Friendships") make 3 interim stops at the Epcot area resorts.)

I'd read in other spots the boat was incredibly slow, which perhaps we will still take and just plan extra time in case we need it. My son is just shy of 3 years old and based on info posted here, I'm not sure I will want to fuss with it. Thanks for all the help!! Going to WDW in 6 days! Yeehaw! :cool1:

Are the direct buses in a special spot? I was concerned about getting from spot to spot and taking a taxi...so the direct bus option is awesome. My travel agent mentioned having to take a bus to a resort, then to another park as the only way to get 'directly' from one park to another.

The buses are right where the buses to the resorts are. Just look at the sign to see what number the stop is.

Taxis in WDW are very expensive. If you're thinking about using them, check the Orlando Taxi Fare Finder to get an idea of what the fare will be.

Honestly, I would be really worried about what other misinformation your TA has given you. Park to park transportation has always existed.
