I was just wondering how to tackle Cars Land? I am leaving for my Disneyland vacation on Aug 25th I am wondering how I should tackle CL. I know it's summer, its busy and annual pass holders will be non blocked out as of the 18th or something. But as of right now how would you suggest I look at Cars land? I'm assuming on park opening I head right down to get a RRSR fast pass then see all I can in CL before it gets super busy during the afternoon. But how is it at night time? I am going on an all adults vacation, and so I dont have to worry about getting little ones to bed. We can stay out until park closing. Does CL seem to quiet a bit in the later evening or even an hour or so before park closing?
TIA!

First thing in the morning. Use the single rider line if possible for RSR - the lines never get shorter.

Get RSR FP and ride the other Carsland rides at opening. Use FP for RSR and, as PP mentioned, use the single rider line when you want to ride again.
Have fun!

We used our FP's after expiration time and rode it at night (9:00ish) ... and IMHO, the ride is even more amazing at night with all the lighting.

I'm curious if anyone has some tips for those of us without EEs. Im going next weekend but will only be there for 2 days and will be staying offsite. Is morning still the best time even though the EE folks will have already been there for a while?

Thanks so much for any help or tips :)

Typically there's a huge rush towards RSR in the morning, so unless you are there at rope drop the morning may not be the best time to ride it standby. Once the initial surge passes wait times usually drop off later in the day.

Thanks for all your replies. Basically it sounds like the strategy I have in my head was on track. I dont typically mind waiting in stand by lines, but I have a feeling I wont be doing that with RSR or any other ride in CL. It's my families first time seeing CL, and will want to ride everything together. So morning it is. We will just book our butts down to the fast pass machine and then onto the rides. But good to know if I break away from them during the trip and have some alone time that I can do single rider.

We just got back and this is what we did. Granted I dont ride so it didnt bother me to wait. We were in line at California Adventure between 7 and 730. When they opened the gates, everyone gave me their tickets. I got in the Fast Pass line, and they got in the mob of people at the rope at Carthay Circle. At 8, the girls 16 & 19 went to the single rider line, and DH and son (6) got in the regular line. The girls waited less than 30 min to ride and the others usually less than 45 min. The girls rode the single rider the whole time, so their brother could use the fast passes. This way he ended up riding 3 times each day. And they did say that you have to ride it at night.........its awesome!

I can do the single rider line so I don't know if I have to plan all that much, but both days I'm there are during the half marathon, so no early access in the morning. I also don't know if the marathonners will just get in line.

This is me too! We can't get in early :(. Doesn't the crowd level drop off during WOC? Please? ;)

If you're staying on-site, I'd go during early entry. Otherwise, you have two options: first thing in the morning or at night. I did notice that things were less busy at night last week and the week before. Either way though, I'd recommend using the single rider line. When wait times were 120 minutes, single rider was only 15-20.

I would ride RSR in the morning but if you can, come back to CL at night when all of the lights are on. It's really beautiful and one of the coolest things in the park!
