Cars Land & BVS - June 15th!

Agreements between sources and news agencies about timing of info released isn't anything new. Al is the only one that has even hinted about this particular date. Even after the fact other sites like MP aren't saying they are just rumors or jumping on the date bandwagon. Typically MP will add a [rumor] tag to threads about unconfirmed news like Starbucks coming to DTD. The thread about The June 15 opening hasn't been tagged. This leads me to believe that the info is true but other sites had already told Disney they wouldn't release it until x date. If Al released it besides the agreement with Disney I wonder how much pull he will have in getting info in the future.

I don't believe Disney released the Cars Land opening date to a bunch of fan sites and asked them to hold it until they're ready to release it publicly.

First, one of the unwritten rules of the embargo is that when one person breaks it, the embargo is over. But no one else broke it.

Second, Al makes his trade in getting info from unnamed sources and unofficial channels. Not by cheating off a press release. He has a track record to back that up.

Third, for the very reasons you point out, no one who makes a living off a media relationship violates and embargo agreement and then does so with his or her own name on it.

And fourth, he's not exactly on the best terms with the Disney PR team in the first place. He's an outspoken critic.

Everyone is abuzz with Al Lutzs' report of 6/15 for the DCA relaunch. Just waiting now for an official announcement.

The Walt Disney Co. announced its' quarterly report today and arounddisney just tweeted this about an hour ago: Bob Iger said Cars Land will open in June.

I'm assuming he was asked about DCA by investors and that was his response. It probably won't be long before a formal announcement is made and we'll see if Als' report is really on the mark.

Will the new rides in Carsland have Fastpass? Specifically the Radiator Springs Racers? I did a google search, but did not see this info.

Yes RSR will have FP.
Great, thanks for the info.

Another question, if the "Grand" opening or official opening is June 15th, will that be the first actual date that the public can get in? Or do you think that is just the date for the media event and the general public will be able to get in before that?

Im guessing it will be the media day. most likely the park and rides will be open at some degree of operation a few weeks leading up to it.

From what I've heard, media day will be on June 14th and the official/public opening on June 15th.

I wish Disney would officially release some dates around these openings. We would like to go this summer and would probably only be able to go in June, but I don't want to be there the weekend of the actual grand opening.

Does anyone know what opening day/weekend will be like? Four hour waits for Carsland? People camping out? Capacity crowds? We are trying to decide between 6/12-6/17 and and mid-July.

Does anyone know? No. Can experienced folks make educated guesses? Yes. And my educated guess is "yes" to all of your questions. For DCA. Not necessarily for DL.

Was there just last night and they had all the lights on. You could see all the neon signs. Very cool! They were also running Tow-Mater (can't remember what the ride is actually called). You could see this just over the wall if you were near the Blue Sky preview area. It really got me excited. Our passes expire in early June and this might just be the thing that gets us to pay those super high fees for one more year.

I am a new AP. I've seen some posts about special opportunities for AP's to go into Carsland. When I purchased my AP the CM mentioned that AP's sometimes get early previews of rides. She specifically told us that when the Little Mermaid ride opened in 2011 AP's were given an opportunity to ride before it was officially opened.

Does anyone have an idea how AP's will be notified? How has DL done this in the past (for example Little Mermaid)?

Thx.
