We are booked to fly Jet Blue for our trip the first week of October. It's been a while since our last plane trip and I can't remember how many carry ons you are allowed? I was thinking husband will carry on soft sided cooler and I will carry the duffle bag with the change of clothes, etc. in it. Would I also be able to carry a separate bag if I spill over what I'll need to carry on? We'll be checking 2 rolling suitcases, then the dufflebag will have the change of clothes and toiletries. I'm afraid if I have to put shoes into the duffle bag I won't have enough room for toiletries so I'm thinking I may need a smaller bag for the little things I couldn't fit. Is that allowed? :confused3

See JetBlue baggage information.

Be sure to keep the carry-on size limits in mind when picking your carry-on items:
"All customers are allowed one carry-on and one personal item (i.e. purse, briefcase, laptop, etc.). Personal items must be 18" x 15" x 8" or smaller to fit under the seat. Carry-on baggage must be 24" x 16" x 10" or smaller to fit in the overhead bin.

All airlines seem to follow the "one limited-size carry-on and one even smaller personal item" rule these days.

Assistive devices (such as a CPAP) are exempt from these rules.

How big is your purse? ;)

Seriously though, if you have a large attache-type bag you can carry it on as a purse. Several years ago my DM got me a great leather bag from Nine West that I have used for any sort of travel. I actually stuff my smaller pruse for everyday inside it, plus all my itinerary stuff, tickets, etc., and have room for my toiletry bag too.

Another tip: you mentioned shoes. Stuff the insides of the shoes with whatever fits in them. Socks and undies are good ones for this. Saves room inside the bag.
